Would keep Yariel in the pen. Hopefully he can work his way more into some high leverage spots and be a guy who shares the 7th/8th innings with Yimi.

First Saturday home game 2024 was 31,500, again, 15th game of the season, against Colorado. 4 and 6 over their previous 10.

Follow up, last time the Jays had a non-covid 1st Saturday home game in March was 2019. Attendance was just over 25K. against Detroit

That's pretty much what I thought it was. Today was 21K which for a weekend seems really weak, probably only been a handful of games the last 3 years with it under 20K.

 

Could be dress like a seat day at the dome the next 3 days lol.

Manny was famously known to not even keep track of the count in an AB, he would just swing at strikes and not swing at balls. Vlad seems to be a similar hitter.

Your assessment of Vlad Jr. is accurate, but he is not comparable to Manny.

While it appeared at times that Manny didn't even fully grasp the rules of baseball, at the plate he was one of the most cerebral and detail oriented hitters of all time. He had one of the most technically consistent right handed swings of all time. He may have been autistic.

Vlad has altered his swing more in the past 5 years than Manny did in his entire career. The two are not comparable, for better or for worse. There's a lot of content on Manny out there, he's a fascinating figure.

Agreed, Man-Ram was on another level, and arguably the best right handed hitter of all time, you guys are spot on. Now if Vlad replicates his '21 and '24 this year, he'd likely be on the path of Manny, maybe.

-Gimenez looked amazing

-the backend pitching looks like s*** with Scherzer going down and Lovelady and Barnes sucking. This could be fixed quickly if Fluharty performs and Y-Rod/Bloss can replace Scherzer but it’s pretty concerning right now

1 more depth starter and 1 more mid-relief guy would’ve been nice, but I suppose the unsigned dudes want guaranteed roster spots and we couldn’t give that to them.

Both Spencer Turnbull and Lance Lynn remain unsigned which is a weird one.

Signing Jake Junis would have been nice for $4.5M. Seems like he's content with being a long man/spot starter. Would have been a nice depth arm to have. 

I would callup Bloss and keep Y-Rod in the pen, because the Jays could really use the Y-Rod we saw today in the 7th/8th innings of a tight game. 

Maybe we see Yesavage at some point as well. Try to move him along a bit more quicker, so he can be a potential callup in July/August maybe.

First impression of Gimenez has been awesome! Man if he returns to being a 5 to 6 WAR player again, that would be amazing!

Yeah and with Turnbull, you can likely move him between the rotation and pen at anytime with no issues.

Indeed.  If another starter goes down, I want Bloss going as our next starter. Not Yarbrough.  You don't always need a long man in the pen if you have guys with options.
