Angrioter Old-Timey Member Posted January 17, 2025 Posted January 17, 2025 Cleveland f*** us with Gimenez money and Straw now The Padres are OUT on Stangstag 1
Stangstag Old-Timey Member Posted January 17, 2025 Posted January 17, 2025 Im glad Sasaki decided to pave his own path, good for him
Terminator Old-Timey Member Posted January 17, 2025 Posted January 17, 2025 What if the rest of the league decides that enough is enough and bands together to do the right thing: hangs up the phone the second the Dodgers call to inquire on International Pool Money

Vancouverite Verified Member Posted January 17, 2025 Posted January 17, 2025 anyone know what Straw's advanced metrics show about his base running skills? If he's elite on defense (gold glove) and baserunning than would he be the worst option to have as the 26th man especially as Springer is regressing defensively? and if we're adding Satander and/or Alonso our team speed and defense would suffer so i'm just trying to play devil advocate here to see if there's any value here as having him as the 26th man to pinch-run and defensive substitution late in games? As other said overall i too think Loperfido, Clase and Berroa project better as an overall player but, neither are gold gloves and he may project better as a situational utility player?

Yeah as a situational guy Straw is fine. As a late inning defensive guy he helps out the bullpen a fair bit. Varsho and Straw in the OF together is like a giant vacuum Spanky99 1
Jays24 Old-Timey Member Posted January 17, 2025 Posted January 17, 2025 If Sasaki signs with the Dodgers, I didn't think there was anyway the Jays could do worse than last off-season but we are very close to doing so.

Laika Community Moderator Posted January 17, 2025 Posted January 17, 2025 Is Ross Atkins a double agent? Like is he a secret Orioles fan? If the Jays miss on Sasaki, that will be the only explanation I have left.
Blue balls Verified Member Posted January 17, 2025 Posted January 17, 2025 Guys, The extra 2m is not for Sasaki. It’s too sign Christopher Polanco AND Sasaki… 🤫 Jimcanuck 1

Angrioter Old-Timey Member Posted January 17, 2025 Posted January 17, 2025 The $2 million Toronto earned in the Straw's awful trade will go toward robbing the Dodgers of international players they pre-signed. The Dodgers will be out of money after signing Sasaki

If used situationally i think he'll provide value and might even help us win / close out some games. worthy gamble for 5M this season to try to land Sasaki. Can't be too conversative in my opinion. Desperate times call for desperate measures. I suspect if we don't land Sasaki, then this team is going nowhere anyway - whether we employ Myles Straw or not. This team 100% needs to "go for it" and not p*ssy out like SD seemingly did.
Terminator Old-Timey Member Posted January 17, 2025 Posted January 17, 2025 Love the Jays PR team acting like we don't know what's going on Spanky99 and Jays24 2
Terminator Old-Timey Member Posted January 17, 2025 Posted January 17, 2025 Ok Pirates you're up next. Send as Ke'Brian Hanes and his broken back, cash, and another 3 mil in intl money and shove it toward Sasaki

Than sign one of Alonso, Sat, or Briegman. Pendleton 1
