If trade rumor about Clement traded to DBacks for Montgomery are true, Atkins will be raped again by the Arizona GM. Doing that, we get a SP that underperformed and cost 22M, so DBacks will be able sign Flaherty or trade for Cease. Also we will give them our best utilities player, and if we didn't sign Bregman, our 3B will be Barger. Doing favors to Guardians and  DBacks, made me wonder if Atkins want keep opportunities find a new job in Cleveland or Arizona,  after he will be fired 🤔

One guy worth keeping an eye on in the bullpen is Tommy Nance.

He had a Stuff+ of 134 last year which was 14th in all of baseball. His Location+ was 98.

For comparison's sake, Jason Adam who has been great had a Stuff+ of 129 and Location+ of 98 last year. 

I guess Nance's problem is that his fastball sucks? Might be one of the worst in baseball but his Cutter might be one of the best pitches in baseball too?

We spoke of this when we acquired him, I think we generally said dude needs to ditch that pitch.

Yeah often referred to as a "cut fastball" right? My bad.

So he could just go cutter/slider? Based on his Stuff+ he'd be a Top 20 reliever if that was a viable combo.

Well the NFL needs to capitalize on all the new fans Taylor Swift brought so of course the Chiefs are going to win the Super Bowl again. The refs have been making calls in favour of the Chiefs that directly affected the outcome of the game all season. I'm not even going to watch the Super Bowl.

There's newly minted starter Clay Holmes on there as well, although obviously remains to be seen how his stuff holds up when stretched out

Dude has pitched fairly well in bat friendly environments(AL/NL East), that dude's only available because of the boat anchor attached to him.

I don't trust these kind of guys after Jordan Hicks last year.

Even if they seemingly click early on in 4-5 inning stints as a starter, they've got a looooong way to go with maintaining their stuff, dealing with any innings caps, and avoiding injury.
