Munoz is a pos

I think Belly was stealing/relaying signs at 2nd.  He'd wave his arms on the slider.

Edit - I'm too late, but I do love to see others seeing the same thing.  It's really cool to have this baseball community.

I wasn't paying attention. Were they using manual signal calling?

Can’t believe the Mariners blew that game. Saw the score at 5-0 and assumed the Jays would have a nice 3 game lead heading into the weekend.

f***ing Mariners can’t do anything right

Geez, I bet the Mariners tonight and got the early payout since they went up 5-0. But damn, upset they blew it FFS!

Fangraphs article today on how MLB teams are prioritizing CF defense more than ever. CF hitting has gone down dramatically while CF defense has gone up at the same time.

The main reason that trying to hit the ball up the middle is less effective than ever. And maybe part of why certain Blue Jays have struggled in certain years despite very decent line drive, up the middle approaches (Bo, Vlad, Kirk, Springer sometimes)

Whatever happened to Ozzie Albies, dude's s***?!

He's was already crappy in 2 of the past 3 seasons and is on his way to making it 3 of the past 4.  He never was a "great" hitter.  It certainly looks like his best years are behind him.  Austin Riley hasn't been awful, but he also doesn't look like the same guy he was 2-3 years ago.

Fried drops out of AS game, replaced by Rodon.  JRod also pulls out - no replacement named yet, but hopefully that's an opportunity to add Springer!

Arozarena. Whoever picks the all-stars really hates Springer

They've put themselves in a playoff position without him all season and have a completely solid rotation without him.... so trading him away to fill their actual areas of weakness makes a ton of sense, and even more when you factor in the 12ish million dollars it saves them.

There's also a defensible argument to keep him but, there's no doubt if they ever want to capitalize on him when they really don't NEED him, it would be at the deadline if he has some great starts between now and July 31

Rotten Tomatoes has your post now at 12%. Top review:

This post really felt flat for me. Not much realism, as everyone knows you wouldn’t trade an Ace SP for such a deal, It seemed to me that the Director of the post, John Havok, had put together this post to avenge someone in his circle. Certainly there’s a homo erotic quality to that which some may enjoy. But for me, I had a hard time making it to the end of the post. It tried too hard to be something it was not.

Bosox on a heater and they get Bregman back soon. Not to mention the flexibility to acquire big contracts since the Devers trade.

The played the Rockies for 3 games at Fenway this past week which helps lol.

They definitely can go on a bit of a run and lock down a WC spot. As well, like you said they could add big contracts now with more flexibility since the Devers trade. Wouldn't count them out in September.

Just thinking out loud here, but that trade the O's and Rays did for that extra pick... that gives the Orioles 4 picks in the top 37; their normal 1st rounder, 2 more in the first comp round for losing Burnes and Santander, then that competitive balance pick.

Gonna have a massive signing pool again.

This upsets me as much as anything non Blue Jay related does...

With Nutting as principle owner, the Pirates are 1285-1534 since 2007, and have only 4 seasons where they had a record above .500, and just 3 playoff appearances. Lost in the DS, and lost both WC games they appeared in.

Tragic

1 season they had a payroll over 100 million. and it was 2017 for a whopping 100,503,030

Fuuuuck this division man. If the Rays start spending now, we’re f***ed

We had the same concern about the Orioles and they've completely cheaped out in recent offseasons despite new ownership. Hopefully the same happens with the Rays.

I'd rather the Rays go to a better baseball market, but at least common sense seems to be prevailing here as it looks like they will try to move the team to actual Tampa rather than trying to build a new stadium in the same location that no one wants to travel to now.

Hopefully this is a great move for TB and MLB in general (as s***** as it may become for the Jays).  Now sell Pittsburgh please.

Mark Cuban has tried for years. 😥

Nutting can sit on this... 🖕
