This seems like the kind of situation where the organization shouldn't roll over. Devers shouldn't get to decide whether or not he plays 1B.

Devers was promised that he would play 3B as a condition of his contract extension. This is all on the organization.

Devers is a loser and his teammates probably hate him

A loser playing for the worst organization in this history of professional sports is a perfect pairing. He must enjoy the racist taunts from the crowd.

So Roki Sasaki sucks I guess. Wow.

Might need time in the minors to work out his control? He’s still so young and essentially a prospect

Thought he would have started in the minors to begin with, but I guess the Dodgers had no choice with some of the injuries to their rotation.

Writing off Sasaki (who is only 23) already because of a small sample size at the big league level when he likely needed some seasoning in the minors to begin with is a bit pre-mature.

Yikes, didn't expect that, thought it was mostly command. Could it be the ball, maybe? Some guys have trouble initially with the ball. Jays might've dodged a massive bullet.

Probably why nobody is doing that.

Thanks tips

No conclusions or opinions on anybody until they retire. Got it.

He's also getting extremely lucky with just a .230 BABIP.

The projections are really starting to taper off for him too.

4 ERA pitcher who is a 5 and dive is how the projections see him right now.

Myles Straw has been 0.8 WAR better than Sasaki so far lmao

Ross was just feigning interest in Sasaki so he could nab Strawsie + human trafficking money

When Sasaki has a stretch of 5 really good starts in a row at some point, you'll then say Sasaki is legit. Flip flop as usual.

The top of the A's lineup did a number on the Yankees pitching today.

Rodon rebounded and gave the Yankees 6 innings, allowing 4 earned runs, and 10 K's with no walks. Second in the MLB with 67 K's.

Griffin Canning is actually having a decent season. WTF? Already at 0.7 WAR and 3.39 FIP through 7 starts.

I was tarred and feathered during the offseason by some suggesting him as a back-end rotation option.

And he still got his tits lit.

The weirdest thing about Sasaki is how bad his stuff his, at least per Stuff+. That's not what we expected. Everyone thought he had MLB ready stuff and command. It wouldn't have been surprising at all if the stuff was great and the command was lacking, but models hate his fatsball and slider.

This suggests he's not throwing as hard to try and regain his command.

That's likely screwing up his stuff+ metrics.  Very odd situation.

You were banging that drum all off-season. I remember that.  I don't remember any T&F but I could be wrong.  I think most thought they needed to aim higher and others thought it would be hard to convince him to sign here knowing he'd be a 6th or 7th starter, coming out of the bullpen.

So far he's been great value for the Mets. Will be interesting to see if he can keep it up.
