yeah the numbers are almost identical for 2023/24, 100ish games at C and 45ish games at DH

 

I mean - typically you're doing this so your franchise catcher is ready for a large load in the playoffs (pardon my pun). It's not like they want to get Brian McCann in the lineup and don't have other bats to DH. Seems odd, but maybe Burnes hates Adley.

Sometimes the first year in a competitive window is your best shot. Might not end up being the case for Baltimore but they were way too complacent at the deadline last year. American League was very winnable.

I think they've been way too complacent since the offseason after their 83-win 2022 season. They've mostly just hoarded their prospects and their biggest FA splurge in this window was wasting 14M on Craig Kimbrel

I think he did get injured at some point this season right? Haven’t kept up with them too much.

Yeah probably but I think that's just catching for you. They are probably constantly battling general fatigue and always getting dinged up. If enough of those dings happen in any given season you are basically always playing at ~90% and it's messing with your swing.

Agree on all that but this guy could draw a walk now he doesn't even walk anymore. His walk rate is like half of what it was the first half of the season. Something not right.
