I guess in the case of Skubal and Crochet it's not $$$, but Elias wanting to hang on to his prospects

Burnes is a FA and they will have no top of the rotation arm unless they buy one in 2025

The question is why?

Your infield is full + you have to make room somehow for Mayo and Basallo

Your outfield is pretty good. You could roll with Kjerstead/Mullins/Cowser next year

I guess they’re just going 2015 Blue Jays and hope to outscore everybody

Probably just risk aversion taken too far. That org still hasn't shown the commitment to winning that makes me think they'll be towering over the AL for the next 5-10 years. If LAD or NYY were in their shoes Skubal would be on the team and they'd be in the process of working out a 10-year extension. But Baltimore goes half measures with two guys you don't want making playoff starts.

I bet Burnes and Santander leave in the offseason without suitable replacements brought in.

No smart gm would waste these cheap years of that core like this unless their hands were tied. Now is the time to pay for stars because Henderson, Rutsch etc are cheap

If they had any balls they'd back the truck up for Snell knowing that they can just develop more prospects anyway.

Burnes and Snell in the playoffs with that lineup would have a great shot to win it all

I want Green, Richards, Bassit, KK, IKF all moved. Tank the year with whoever is left.

Not really expecting much back but I think you got to move Bassit right now, irresponsible to keep him in this market.

Richards and KK sure... but neither of them are overly attractive at the moment as trade targets.

Bassitt... no. you still need a rotation next year - if you get blown away ... sure. But you don't move him for money savings.

IKF.... i could go either way there. If it's needed to get under the luxury tax, yes. Same with Green.

Definitely not for money saving, it's a good market and with another year left he should be very valuable.

weird!

It makes no sense for SF to trade Cobb and Soler but not Snell. Have to think he's moving today

Yeah but you don't sell for the sake of selling. Only if you're get more than you expect.

This deadline has been so boring. Very little payoff for ignoring my job all afternoon.

Could be 2-3 deals still to be had. I thought we'd try to dump KK and a reliever. The taxable salary has to be a major concern.

Rush of activity leading up to the deadline, but actual deadline day has been pretty dead so far.

Hopefully we can move IKF and Green

The Royals have bolstered their infield depth by acquiring shortstop Paul DeJong from the White Sox, The Athletic’s Ken Rosenthal reports (via X). The deal will become official after a medical review.

The Rangers and Tigers are finalizing a trade sending veteran left-handed reliever Andrew Chafin from Detroit to Texas, reports ESPN’s Jeff Passan. The agreement is in place and pending medical review of the names involved, Ken Rosenthal of The Athletic adds.

Jays want to get under the luxury tax. More moves coming for sure. Fully expect Bassitt to be traded, maybe Gausman too.

Richards will go I predict. KK about 50/50 chance.

Bassitt and others they keep

I would bet the same thing actually
