I don't know how you can't sell Kikuchi in a sellers market with like 10 teams looking for SPs. AND most of them have completely superfluous parts they'd deal in a heartbeat. For example, Guardians MIFs or Orioles AAA position players.

Why the f*** is Atkins still employed? The longer this madness goes on, the more I want Shapiro's ass to follow him outta the country.

Don't want a drawn out teardown

With the state of the farm, the team will only get worse if it doesn't get a return now for older declining players

He should get a haul. What other starting pitchers will be out there that are better? Crochet if he's even dealt?

Were Happ and Stroman the best SP’s available in the 2018 and 2019 deadlines respectively? I don’t recall but if they weren’t the best, then they were damn close. Atkins can still mess this up.

Regardless, the Orioles would be an interesting trade partner. If any team has expendable position player prospect depth, it’s them. Joey Ortiz was expendable to them while he’d have been the Jays best prospect by a landslide before this season. They’d likely have interest in Kooch and Garcia (if healthy).

On top of Kikuchi we can sprinkle in some sweeteners like a reliever (Yimi or Richards) as well as vetrin presents (KK or Turner) and we can pay for all of it which could be enticing to some poor teams. Heck, we could even send them Kikuchi's battery mate in Jansen.

Not much, I believe he's right behind Crochet as well. Should get a good return.

Atkins has been muzzled, he won't be running the deadline moves, it'll be Click/Tinnish and Shapiro overseeing it.

Go checkout a LAD's message forum, they want all our guys, lol. Bo/Kooch/Turner/Garcia in that order. ;)

They got a taste of Biggio, and now they want the full course!

There are more than you think.

Likely getting sold: Flaherty, Crochet, Kikuchi, Fedde

Might get sold: Scherzer, Snell, Severino, Eovaldi, Montas, Montgomery

And then a dozen other obviously worse pitchers who could get sold

Of course, salary and talent make Kikuchi better than most of those names but not all of them. The Jays may not actually get a haul since there could be some viable alternatives.

In order for Atkins/Jays to maximize his return for Kikuchi he has to preemptively deal before other candidates as Laika noted become available. Basically pull a Billy Beane Moneyball move and say, "I thought I would give you first dibs on the lefty. You don't act now he will be gone by the weekend."

Stroman was maybe, I can't remember. But regardless neither were nuking teams like Kooch just did. He's a notch above

No, but they were close as you say

2018: Chris Archer was traded

2019: Zack Greinke and Trevor Bauer were traded

Yeah, that makes all the sense in the world. Stone's been good though.

They need to move Bo- period! We have a unique situation where both ATL and LAD need a SS.

The acquiring team will get 2 playoff runs with him.

There is very little chance the Jays sign both Vlad and Bo, Bo being less likely.

Bo has a good track record is still young, good body type and plays a premium position. Even with his struggles, he has a lot of value.

We can get much more now playing the Dodgers vs Atlanta then we can in the off season or next year's trade deadline.

Fool's errand thinking this Team will get good enough next year as compared to other Teams in our division's trajectory.

Need to get young assets at highest value.

Trade Bo now!

Ask yourself, does a contending team like the Braves/Dodgers even want Bo playing SS everyday with the way he’s currently playing?

Would we get anything worthwhile? Would those teams be willing to pay the price of what Bo SHOULD be worth if his numbers were similar to career-norms?

Idk man, the most likely scenario is they hold onto Bo and hope he finishes the season strong

Like to get enough to help farm system. Move some contract also. Bo, Keiermayer, Kik, moves almost 40 million next season.

They would be banking on projections, past history, 1st half slump etc. As mentioned, more value now to the receiving Team with two shots at having him in the playoffs then the offseason.

Also, if he does end up sucking the whole year, they won't even take a chance and won't be desperate.

See if they would take Berrios as well.

Kikuchi though would be a terrific fit with the Dodgers.

I agree 100%. The Jays have one of the 3 best starters that will be moved with a ton of teams needing pitching help. LA is probably #1 and Baltimore might be #2 both who have a ton of close to the majors prospects or guys who have bounced back and forth. I like their chances of landing a useful piece for Kikuchi

I’d sell him if you get even 80% of what you think he’s worth. He’s clearly not re-signing so I don’t have a problem closing the chapter
