Brownie19 Old-Timey Member Posted May 27, 2024 Posted May 27, 2024 Vogel > JT lol You know Voggy has been very good v. RHP throughout his career right?
Carlos Danger Old-Timey Member Posted May 27, 2024 Posted May 27, 2024 This is a AA batting practice pitcher. No reason for the Jays to lose this one.
hanton Old-Timey Member Posted May 27, 2024 Author Posted May 27, 2024 You know Voggy has been very good v. RHP throughout his career right? I did not know that Vogel JT
Laika Community Moderator Posted May 27, 2024 Posted May 27, 2024 This is a AA batting practice pitcher. No reason for the Jays to lose this one. The script of a loss looks like this: They get like 5 runs off Nastrini but let him off the hook and he completes 5 innings. Bassitt gets pounded. The bullpen gives up some runs. 8-7 loss.
Stangstag Old-Timey Member Posted May 27, 2024 Posted May 27, 2024 Don't forget, leading going into the bottom of the 9th
Laika Community Moderator Posted May 27, 2024 Posted May 27, 2024 This team is truly a f***ing joke at this point. The amount of PRESSURE on Davis Schneider, Danny Jansen, and Daulton Varsho is wild. It feels like if they don't come through the team has no chance. Every night it feels that way. On a truly good offense those guys are the team's 4th, 5th, and 7th best hitters. Right? Bo Bichette is a pathetic, pathetic star. First pitch groundout machine. Has wilted in every big game, ever. Is actually dumb and thinks hitting .300 is all that matters (he has said this in interviews). Hey, Blue Jays, stop building around dumb players! Do an IQ test! Someone needs to kneecap Ross Atkins and break his glasses. Fake nerd piece of crap charlatan GM.

I remember you posting in response to me mid April something like "This is just a clutch team that knows how to win. Their D and elite bullpen will ensure they will win 2/3 close games." This season has not gone like any of us thought so far. Worse if anything. I had them at 85 W and I'm not certain we will get there.

wilko Old-Timey Member Posted May 27, 2024 Posted May 27, 2024 I'm glad this is an early game so I can miss it.
Brownie19 Old-Timey Member Posted May 27, 2024 Posted May 27, 2024 I'm glad this is an early game so I can miss it. There might be 7 fans combined who watch the game today. The only thing worse than being a Jays fan right now, is being a White Sox fan.
BigCecil Old-Timey Member Posted May 27, 2024 Posted May 27, 2024 That one was definitely pure sarcasm I think you were channeling your inner Tabby.
Laika Community Moderator Posted May 27, 2024 Posted May 27, 2024 Rossy's offseason plan: - regression would improve the offense by a significant amount. i.e., Vlad, Varsho, Kirk, Springer would pretty much all be better - the pitching and defense would be about as good - IKF would be a contributor - Turner would be a contributor It has not worked! - Vlad and Varsho are better - Kirk and Springer are worse - The defense is still good - The pitching is worse - IKF has been very good - Turner has been very bad And then the wildcard sandbag - Bo Bichette sitting at 0.5 WAR in 200 PA, after three consecutive 4+ WAR years. Your 26 year old star bites the dust right after you tried to toe the line on offense. What a guy punch. It's like Bo is trying to get Ross fired!!!
Brownie19 Old-Timey Member Posted May 27, 2024 Posted May 27, 2024 I did not know that Vogel JT Voggy wRC+ v. RHP 2023 - 119 2022 - 148 2021 - 117 I have no idea why you're comparing him to Turner. Do you think Turner is too hot to take out of the lineup?
BigCecil Old-Timey Member Posted May 27, 2024 Posted May 27, 2024 Even if Bo was 2 WAR ish already the picture would be better, but not that much.
L54 Old-Timey Member Posted May 27, 2024 Posted May 27, 2024 Voggy wRC+ v. RHP 2023 - 119 2022 - 148 2021 - 117 I have no idea why you're comparing him to Turner. Do you think Turner is too hot to take out of the lineup? I think he’s laughing at signing JT has led to Vogelbach taking DH at bats away from him in May
Jays24 Old-Timey Member Posted May 27, 2024 Posted May 27, 2024 Wasn't Turner just batting 2nd for us? Gotta love this management groups rationale on lineup decisions. You either suck or you're good enough to be top 5 every time you play lol. On another note, Springer batting 7th. How low can he go...

Well statistically he's the worst hitter on the team this season, so you could easily make an argument for him hitting 9th.
Eat My Shatkins Verified Member Posted May 27, 2024 Posted May 27, 2024 I would prefer Springer hit the bench and get hardly any ABs going forward until he turns it around. In the mean time let's see if we have anything in Barger.
Governator Community Moderator Posted May 27, 2024 Posted May 27, 2024 Well statistically he's the worst hitter on the team this season, so you could easily make an argument for him hitting 9th. Yea, I'd stick up 9th until his BABIP starts to catch up to him. He still takes his walks, good K%, puts balls in play and would never hurt the top of the line up. If he's not leading off, might as well be 2nd leadoff.
Brownie19 Old-Timey Member Posted May 27, 2024 Posted May 27, 2024 I think he’s laughing at signing JT has led to Vogelbach taking DH at bats away from him in May He expected a 39 year old to start 162 games? That's odd. Voggy's started like 9 of 52 games. It's not like he's the new starting DH.
Pinkfloid Verified Member Posted May 27, 2024 Posted May 27, 2024 So much Bichette and Springer hate in this thread and they both homer, lol. That's baseball for you.
Jays24 Old-Timey Member Posted May 27, 2024 Posted May 27, 2024 Damn... there was so much chatter pregame and only 3 posts once the game started lol.
Pinkfloid Verified Member Posted May 27, 2024 Posted May 27, 2024 f*** off, ump!! The called third strike on Schneider last inning was at least 4 inches further off the plate.
hanton Old-Timey Member Posted May 27, 2024 Author Posted May 27, 2024 just noticed Vlady flirting with .300
Eat My Shatkins Verified Member Posted May 27, 2024 Posted May 27, 2024 1st and 2nd nobody out. Fly ball 1st and 3rd one out GIDP Can't believe it
