The dude had one minor injury to a lat muscle that has him on track to miss approximately 5 weeks. If that's some sort of massive arbiter of doom to you then feel free to continue to stand on the street corner and clang away on your doomsday bell.

Still defending the Green deal I see. You and some others will never let it go.

I'm honestly appreciating the Manoah comeback. Also Varsho is exciting to watch when he's going.

Great to see Manoah looking good on the mound. Hope he keeps it up and provides the Jays some valuable innings.

Varsho is an easy guy to root for. If he makes some improvements offensively, he has the opportunity to be a stud. Would love to see him put together a .250/40 HR/25-30 SB type of season along with his defense.

Hazel doesn't move around too much.

Yep. She is a big user of that volteran she is pimping. Too sore to move much.

Why do I need to "let it go" exactly? I didn't bring the topic up in the first place, and I simply joined in the discussion stating it was a bad deal and voiced my opinion it was far too early to pass that type of judgement. Stop rushing to judgement before you obtain the relevant facts first.

Your steady stream of self serving I told you so posts is real cream of the crop material.

what does Harrison Ford/Indiana Jones say.... "it's not the years, it's the mileage"

Man this board hates Chad Green lol

It's like logging on to find 20 Terminators ranting about Cavan Biggio on a daily basis

I liked the Green deal, if it ends up not working out so be it, it's not going to kill us. Could still end up being a good deal. Either way it's near the bottom of the list as far as concerns go.

just finished watching last night's game. They played pretty well, the White Sox that is, the jays took SUCK to a level I didn't think I'd see this year. Well, I was at hoping I wouldn't see it.

I'll watch tonight's game tomorrow, without commercial, with the commentary muted and see if I make it to the 3rd inning without sounding like I'm suffering Roid Rage.

at this point, are we hoping they sell off everything of value, and actually have 3 years of proper suck ball, to be able to load up on prospects, building from the ground up? The whole tinker with the lineup built around Bichette and Vlad has lost it's ability to trick anyone into thing there is a possibility of a good team in the near future.

I think its the opposite now and then. Most were in favor at the time if you look back at that thread when they exercised the option, and still are. There were a few of us conscientious objectors at the time. I thought it was IL risky and a lot for a reliever with their volatility.

I do agree that it was $10.5M AAV of the $50M AAV Jays invested in this off season - not the end of the world. There is time if he stays healthy, and has his stuff, to be of value.

Just add him to your ignore list. It's glorious.

Well, it's quite easy when you guys are shills for Atkins and this front office.

Yeah, I’ve been on the record for it always as well. You need to hedge your bets against RP volatility if you’re a playoff team and can grab some guys that have stronger chances to be good, if you didn’t develop them. Which Jays didn’t. If Jays crumble and aren’t a playoff team, this year, next year, whatever…his salary really isn’t hurting anything but the P&L. Not much downside to the deal. They needed offense but that doesn’t mean you just forget the other stuff that can make a huge difference in a short series

You can’t even talk about Chad Green until you first address the s*** show signing that was IKF. What in the even f*** that was, normal people don’t know. Then trying to buy offense from a guy Tom Brady’s age. Lots of stuff before you get to CG

high leverage RPers also tend to fetch good returns at the trade deadline. Every team is looking for another lights out arm. If he comes back healthy and pitching well, he'll be highly coveted.

Most people wanted us just to use the money from KK/IKF towards a guy like Teo. If it took a damn 2/3 deal then you friggin do it.

At least you could applaud the front office for attempting to address a MAJOR weakness. It's what has most of the fanbase pissed off at the moment because it was so foreseeable

Between Green, KK, Turner, and IKF, I think the Green signing was the most sensible of the group. Even if it failed at least there was enough upside to potentially make it worth it. Literally no upside in the other moves, probably more downside given how much playing time those 3 figure to get regardless of results.

I had no issue with the Green deal, though I wouldn't consider it a "bargain" like some others on here were raving about this past offseason. If Green stays healthy and returns to his prior form where he was a 1.5 - 2 WAR arm, fantastic. Obviously, there was a good amount of risk taken given that he's missed significant time and returning from TJS for a 30+ year old reliever.

As well, teams take chances on high risk/reward type BP arms all the time, but they don't cost $10.5M. Look at the Red Sox signing Liam Hendriks this past offseason and when healthy he was a superior arm to Green.

Coming back healthy is the big question. Spending time on the IL for a good chunk in the early going of this season already, now you see where the risk was with him?

Through 48 gms, IKF has been the top WAR contributor of the $50M AAV group they invested in this off season JT, KK, Y-Rod, Vogelbach, Green.
