John_Havok Old-Timey Member Posted February 24, 2024 Posted February 24, 2024 That kid Berroa can fly, lol. Very good speed. Decent player with some good skills, but ... strikes out too much with not enough pop
John_Havok Old-Timey Member Posted February 24, 2024 Posted February 24, 2024 Somethings been bothering me all game long about Shulman's pbp... i finally figured out why. He sounds alot like Matt Vasgersian, and I cant stand Vasgersian

Eat My Shatkins Verified Member Posted February 24, 2024 Posted February 24, 2024 1st game of spring training is sloppy? Noooooooo waaaaaaay I don't believe it
max silver Old-Timey Member Posted February 25, 2024 Posted February 25, 2024 2021 Vlad was probably that way in large part due to Dunedin, Buffalo and old hitters park Rogers Center. Rogers Center was actually a pitcher friendly park that season.
max silver Old-Timey Member Posted February 25, 2024 Posted February 25, 2024 Spanky told me the park is neutral, you’re wrong. Just a coincidence that Vlad, Semien, Teo, Kirk, etc all had career years. It was a murderers row lineup of talented hitters so that's far more of a factor than the park in my view. The entire team was en fuego in September despite Rogers Center playing in a pitcher friendly Roger's Center.

43211234 Verified Member Posted February 25, 2024 Posted February 25, 2024 Huh? Pretty sure all the damage was on his s***** fastball He was throwing 96 on those taters. That's barely an above average fastball for a RHRP. He did reach back for 99.6 on one pitch. https://baseballsavant.mlb.com/gamefeed?date=2/24/2024&gamePk=748257&chartType=pitch&legendType=pitchName&playerType=pitcher&inning=&count=&pitchHand=&batSide=&descFilter=&ptFilter=&resultFilter=&hf=pitchVelocity&sportId=1#748257 Hopefully he's just ramping things up still.

Not really worried, except for the fact that he looked that bad several times in the regular season last year The one splitter he threw was nice though, haha
P2F Old-Timey Member Posted February 25, 2024 Posted February 25, 2024 Is this game worth going back and watching tonight or nah? Missed it earlier.
Carlos Danger Old-Timey Member Posted February 25, 2024 Posted February 25, 2024 Rogers Center was actually a pitcher friendly park that season. How did it become pitcher friendly in 2021 when it was the same structure and OF dimensions it had been for years... Maybe the roof was open a lot in the late summer when they returned or what was the variable?

Lotta offense, could watch the first couple innings. Highlight of the game was probably Bo single + steal + Turner single to score a run. Wanna see more of that during the season. Chad Dallas looked great. Pearson looked awful. Jansen had a nice double too. That’s about it.
