IKF has a career 80 wRC+ in 2500 PAs. The math on the probability he has offensive upside is not good. He is a glove - relatively expensive depth IF/OF piece.

From what I can gather CBD is really prone to reacting with a lot of different medications. I'd wager that combining CBD oil with anti-psychotics would be rather counter productive.

I’d be fine with a platoon at 3rd IF we got a big everyday bat for 2B or for LF, but we haven’t done that.

It sounds like it's going to be a platoon at 3B of IKF/Biggio/Espy and 2B will be Schneider/Biggio? They need to get a thumper in the lineup somehow. Even a DH only bat at this point.

Yeah this makes sense. I've seen IKF's numbers against high velocity floating around twitter. I think he had a .330 xwOBA against 95+ which is in line with his career totals. That puts him somewhere around a top 150ish hitter in baseball against high velocity.

 

Here he is in a 1-2 count slap hitting a high 99 mph fastball from the reigning Cy Young winner into right field for an RBI single for an example.

Normally I would agree but death, taxes and Cavan Biggio getting way too many ABs at positions he can barely field are the three constants in life.

It's a small sample size alert kind of situation but Biggio looked entirely competent at third base last season and it's fully backed up by the metrics.
