Terminator Old-Timey Member Posted December 27, 2023 Posted December 27, 2023 Isn't that what Varsho's for? Lol Nope.
Jays24 Old-Timey Member Posted December 27, 2023 Posted December 27, 2023 No. When you have the DRS leader in the MLB out there, he isn't f***ing catching. We're talking about being the 3rd catcher in emergency situations. It's not like he's our full time CF or something so might as well get some reps when he's sitting on the bench
Jays24 Old-Timey Member Posted December 27, 2023 Posted December 27, 2023 Signing Hader would probably be an October move Sign Hadar and trade Romano/Espy/Varsho/+ for Roberts. Everything works out lol

Stangstag Old-Timey Member Posted December 27, 2023 Posted December 27, 2023 No. When you have the DRS leader in the MLB out there, he isn't f***ing catching. I don’t see why not. Mookie is an elite RF yet still plays tons of 2B and SS when needed. Varsho caught like 50 games in 2022. I think he should start 20ish games at catcher, especially now that KK is returning.
Omar Old-Timey Member Posted December 27, 2023 Posted December 27, 2023 Is Atkins now going to go get Teo (or some iteration) and call it a day? Yikes.

Guess they'd rather see Varsho on the bench rather than being the 3rd Catcher.

Schneider has been on record saying they have no intention of playing Varsho behind the dish other than a no choice emergency situation.

Eat My Shatkins Verified Member Posted December 27, 2023 Posted December 27, 2023 Why would you start Varsho at C when he is a worse catcher than Kirk or Jansen?? To get his big bad bat into the line up? Haha
TheHurl Site Manager Posted December 27, 2023 Posted December 27, 2023 Schneider has been on record saying they have no intention of playing Varsho behind the dish other than a no choice emergency situation. And IKF would probably now be the Emergency catcher

Haha If (more like when) one of them gets injured, Varsho should be the backup C with KK primarily covering CF. I don’t wanna see Tyler f***ing Heineman getting 2 starts a week again
Carlos Danger Old-Timey Member Posted December 27, 2023 Posted December 27, 2023 Varsho is bad as a C Since when? He was solid with AZ?
L54 Old-Timey Member Posted December 27, 2023 Posted December 27, 2023 Is there a move this year left that is an "October" move? Is giving some kids a chance and maybe trading depth not a potential "October" move. This team is as good as several players making improvments will take them. If they become a 117 wRC+ team with a repeat of their pitching numbers what are they? That probably makes them an additional +100 differential team. I mean that would be Texas offense last year with our pitching. It is probably the 2nd best team in baseball in that scenario. It is an all things going right scenario but that is still this teams upside I’ve said the same that the balance of the season will depend on bounce backs from guys already on the team but there are still clear needs in an OF corner and DH/1B at bats Guys like IKF and KK are valuable as compilers over 162 games. Floor raisers. They don’t have the same ability to impact the post season as they do over the course of the season
Jimcanuck Old-Timey Member Posted December 27, 2023 Posted December 27, 2023 Since when? He was solid with AZ? Was he? I've read otherwise
Marew Verified Member Posted December 27, 2023 Posted December 27, 2023 Assuming the IkF jerseys will be at a discounted price compared to the reg players. I would pay $40 if I could get a legit authentic jersey, signed by Bo or gausman or one of these good players.
BCZ Verified Member Posted December 27, 2023 Posted December 27, 2023 Wtf is this s*** Isiah Kiner-Falefa is trash. Wow overpay!

Laika Community Moderator Posted December 27, 2023 Posted December 27, 2023 He's literally just a Merrifield replacement About the same AAV Except younger. Slightly better. Better roster fit given 3B acumen. Hopefully other players keep him to 450 PA or less
Jonn Old-Timey Member Posted December 27, 2023 Posted December 27, 2023 Another bench player that can’t hit. Exactly what we needed!
Terminator Old-Timey Member Posted December 27, 2023 Posted December 27, 2023 Fans hate defense and their analysis is incredibly skewed because of it. If we signed a 1.5 WAR 3B who was all bat and no glove for 2/15 everyone would be pretty pleased.

L54 Old-Timey Member Posted December 27, 2023 Posted December 27, 2023 I’m shocked it took two years to sign him tbh
Terminator Old-Timey Member Posted December 27, 2023 Posted December 27, 2023 I’m shocked it took two years to sign him tbh Ross Atkins turning into Kim Ng by acquiring cute slap hitting infielders. Someone check his T levels stat.
