BTS Community Moderator Posted October 13, 2023 Posted October 13, 2023 I just now realized the Braves started Kevin Pillar intentionally…in a playoff elimination game. They gave him 200+ PA this year for some reason. AA still has his guys.
BigCecil Old-Timey Member Posted October 13, 2023 Posted October 13, 2023 You have to appreciate the abject randomness of Albies batting stance.
hanton Old-Timey Member Posted October 13, 2023 Posted October 13, 2023 lol at Olson making his way down the 1st base line trying to beat the throw
Jimcanuck Old-Timey Member Posted October 13, 2023 Posted October 13, 2023 Not enough mentions of the Rangers turnaround from one of the worst teams to ALCS finalists I was skeptical of their moves, but....
hanton Old-Timey Member Posted October 13, 2023 Posted October 13, 2023 ...speaking of base running.....it's not only the Jays, Harper earlier in the series and now Ozuna on a close play at 3b
BigCecil Old-Timey Member Posted October 13, 2023 Posted October 13, 2023 It’s f***ing hard to win the World Series. Congratulations to the giant killing mashers on the Phillies. Im envious.
Stangstag Old-Timey Member Posted October 13, 2023 Posted October 13, 2023 Bum-ass Braves only won a single postseason game lol
BTS Community Moderator Posted October 13, 2023 Posted October 13, 2023 Braves win in 2021 with an 80-something win team and no Acuna, then go out like a wet fart this year with Acuna playing like a top-3 player in the world and the rest of the roster absolutely stacked. f***ing baseball.

Last year too lol.
Terminator Old-Timey Member Posted October 13, 2023 Posted October 13, 2023 Bum-ass Braves only won a single postseason game lol They aren’t built for the playoffs. But that garbage team without Acuna was. Probably because Freddie Freeman was built for the playoffs then. But he’s not now.

Probably because Freddie Freeman was built for the playoffs then. But he’s not now. Freddie Freeman just had one of his best seasons And proceeded to get 1 measly hit in the post season before the Dodgers were eliminated Ultimate Large vs small sample size discrepancy
Terminator Old-Timey Member Posted October 13, 2023 Posted October 13, 2023 Eddie Rosario is built for the playoffs. He was just sick this year Well they need to get him some pepto then because they needed him in top shape. What they also need is a more energetic young core like the D-Bags. I know the Braves have the best young core in baseball but it needs more energy if they want to advance. They also need more aces like Brandon Pfart.
Masterbather Old-Timey Member Posted October 13, 2023 Posted October 13, 2023 Really cool NLCS. Phillies are fun but I'm sticking with 'Zona.
Omar Old-Timey Member Posted October 13, 2023 Posted October 13, 2023 Ross Atkins watching AA's team eliminated from the post season...
Laika Community Moderator Posted October 13, 2023 Posted October 13, 2023 "Aces are all that matters" narrative takes another blow as Strider gives up three homers while Suarez gets the win.
Laika Community Moderator Posted October 13, 2023 Posted October 13, 2023 "Aces carry" "Stars shine" Spencer Strider gives up two homers to Nicky Castellllllanos lmao
connorp Old-Timey Member Posted October 13, 2023 Posted October 13, 2023 Yuck it up all you want chumps. Phillies will go back to the WS 2 times in a a row. Astros on their way to 7th straight ALCS with the same kind of team every year. Jays will give it a good try next year. Phillies are a heavyweight. Playoffs are stars against stars. Not everyone will shine all the time. All Phillys stars showed up. Not much fluke to it.
jaysblue Old-Timey Member Posted October 13, 2023 Author Posted October 13, 2023 Atlanta's lineup other than in Game 2 pretty much hit like the Jays this series haha. Strider didn't pitch all that bad, other than giving up the HR ball. Fried was meh, and Elder really s*** the bed for them. I don't get why people hate on Ranger Suarez like he's a nobody. He's not that bad of a pitcher. He's their No. 3 starter who posted a 2.4 WAR this season in 22 starts with a 8.57 K/9. He even pitched well for them in the Postseason last year. Yes the Braves bats should have done way more damage against him, especially after seeing him a second time in the series. Phillies utilized Suarez well in Game 1 and Game 4.
connorp Old-Timey Member Posted October 13, 2023 Posted October 13, 2023 "Aces carry" "Stars shine" Spencer Strider gives up two homers to Nicky Castellllllanos lmao Again, this is so f***ing stupid. 30/40 roulette wheel. And strider’s ERA in post season was much lower than regular season, so try a little less hard lol
jaysblue Old-Timey Member Posted October 13, 2023 Author Posted October 13, 2023 Ross Atkins watching AA's team eliminated from the post season... All the Atkins lovers on the BJMB watching AA's team eliminated last night:

jaysblue Old-Timey Member Posted October 13, 2023 Author Posted October 13, 2023 "Aces carry" "Stars shine" Spencer Strider gives up two homers to Nicky Castellllllanos lmao Nick Castellanos hit 29 HR's and had a .476 SLG this season. Wasn't a slouch with the bat like the previous year. So far 4 HR's in 6 Postseason games. Seems like he's one of their bats that is getting hot and who is having a huge impact at the right time in a short series. Braves lose 3-1. I still want my ace pitching in an elimination game no matter what.
connorp Old-Timey Member Posted October 13, 2023 Posted October 13, 2023 Nick 30 hrs.. what a fluke he hit balls out

Laika Community Moderator Posted October 13, 2023 Posted October 13, 2023 Nick 30 hrs.. what a fluke he hit balls out 2 homers off Strider is an extreme fluke, yes.
Josh Kasevich Buffalo Bisons - AAA SS Kasevich tallied 3 hits on Thursday including his 17th double. He's now hitting .303 on the season. Explore Josh Kasevich News >
