spilky77 has to be the burner of someone with major sway on this forum !! 2 longtime posters did not survive todays f word banhammer but spilky did ??

Nobody was banned for using that word, they were banned for not shutting the f*** up after being told they couldn’t.

Just replace everything with "*******"

+ moron and idiot. Those are the 3 words I use now instead of ones that were previous common place, yet no longer acceptable (for reasons I now appreciate and accept). I couldn't imagine being so self centered that I'd refuse to make minor changes in my vocabulary to avoid offending someone else - especially when that person has a mental or physical disability.

I don't get the weird moral crusade the morons and idiots have about tty ng to prove something is wrong with society when you'd rather not be bombarded by denigrating and offensive slurs...when they're clearly being intended as denigrating and offensive slurs.

Like what's the "gotcha" moment when you intentionally insult and say things designed to make someone else feel like s*** for no reason other than where they put their genitalia?

"See you're offended when I say things that are designed to make you offended...gotcha! You're soft...LOLolOLoL"

Isn't 'idiot' the word that was used in the past for people with mental disabilities though? It was used in a derogatory way. I could see idiot being the next word that gets "banned" from vocabulary.

My view on this stuff is that trying to ban words is extremely toxic, stupid, and short-sighted. There will always be another word to come and fill the void.

However, I will stay away from using triggering words in the presence of people that don't like them... just like how I don't swear in front of grandma.

Also im hoping those are just short-term bans and not perma-bans? Because we don't wanna be pushing away long-time members like that

I don't think so. I just googled it and apparently it used to be a diagnostic term to describe someone with an IQ under 30 (obviously they don't use that anymore). The definition is "a stupid person or someone of low intelligence". That said, it's just really sad that some people want to put other down by suggesting they're a mentally disabled person. There's nothing those people can do about it and using their misfortunes to suggest someone is "like them" is just wrong. I used to do it, but I don't now. It's awful. Don't do it.

John hit the nail on the head though. It's actually not that difficult to make small adjustments to your vocabulary. There are better battles to pick in life.

I'm done with this topic though - back to baseball.

They're back in a couple days

All that being said, (in other words back to baseball) looks like Bowden Francis may have earned the #5 spot today.

Did Manoah die? Haven’t even heard a peep from him the last couple weeks

Seems like he did...about a year ago.

That was against the Twins opening day lineup, he's serviceable.

Even the run that scored was due to Escobar messing up what should have been the inning ending DP. Couldn't watch but I was listening to the twins radio cast.

Parsons showed well also though I doubt he'll ever be much more than a #5 at best depth guy. Command just isn't consistent enough even with the kitchen sink repertoire.

Didnt say he was a star: just that he will be #5

It sounds like his shoulder is improving to the point where he may be able to throw off of a mound soon.

In the 10 days since, Manoah has been receiving daily treatment while continuing to throw off flat ground to maintain his release point. Behind the scenes, he continues doing strengthening and stability exercises, recovery work and cupping to accelerate recovery.

“The biggest thing is letting it heal,” Manoah said. “Then gradually build each and every day.”

If Manoah’s progress continues, he expects to throw a bullpen session by early next week. Typically, starting pitchers require a month or more to build up to five innings from the time they start off a mound, so it’s clear he won’t be fully ramped up by opening day on March 28.

Where'd I say you did?

Sorry Spanky, I misinterpreted your comment. My fault. So maybe a bullpen job, and the righty bats for the infielder/outfielder are to be decided.

I see they piggy backed Francis and Parsons today successfully.

Hopefully that will work with White as well, seeing as he has no options and Parsons does I'm assuming Parsons will have to start in AAA until there is an injury or White shows he still sucks in MLB

The problem with your grandstanding is it’s based on false info. Your first paragraph isn’t factual. That F word is rarely used in such a way to disparage sexual preference. 9/10 it’s used in the same way I would when I think of Spanky stealing Robbie Snelling off my roster. Its the best word to summarize him in that case.
