German would be a really good add. He’d probably be one of the better 5th starters in the league if he can stay out of trouble. Also it would be fun to take another Orioles target off the board.

Yeah he would. If we signed him then we'd actually have some good SP depth.

1. Gausman

2. Berrios

3. Bassitt

4. Kikuchi

5. German

LR- White

AAA- Manoah

AAA- Yariel (or maybe he's a multi-inning reliever)

AAA- Francis

AAA- Tiedemann

AAA- Dallas

If you’re going to sign German why wouldn’t you just sign the better player in Bauer? He might play for a million bucks if nobody else offers him

Yeah I agree but Bauer is even more of a hot potato (for very stupid reasons). We would never sign either. The Oriole should definitely sign one or both of them though.

I wonder if there is a team willing to sign Trevor Bauer

But maybe he wants an actual contract, and the team would rightfully assume that if they wait until March he will sign for league minimum.

What a time we live in where Bauer is off-limits while German has 6 friggin suitors after him. God I hate where our society is going lol

It's not society, it's the business of MLB. Teams seem to have decided that Bauer is too much of a risk to their brand / revenue.

He is kind of a dumbass. Not a bad pitcher though.

Business is a reflection of society on this. They're scared for the blowback from Bauer but have no issue with Chapman, German and countless of other idiots.

Alcoholism is basically excused as a disease. Since he didn’t couple it with anything else that I recall (other than chair tossing etc), he won’t be held accountable for it.

Well, except in the way of less FA$ that he otherwise would’ve gotten. Though wasn’t going to be big deal anyway

There have been a number of careers impacted by character issues.

You'd think someone like the Rays would sign him. They have no fans to piss off anyway.

This sort of thing is circumstantial proof of collusion, but nothing that would hold up legally. I doubt all 30 owners are so bothered by his behavior that they wouldn’t take a super cheap flyer on something that traditionally considered gold (SP)

They would get together and make the stance that it’s not good for baseball. Otherwise, there’s one owner that’s going to take the flyer, all things considered. Speculation but hard to not see it that way

Just running through last year's standings and it seems like a good number of teams should be interested.

The Jays are probably the least likely. Corporate owners who don't like offending anyone, a history of discarding "problematic" players (Yunel Escobar, Bass, Osuna) and an extremely anti-Bauer fanbase (this is my way of pointing out our fanbase's politics without getting political). The Giants are probably right up there with us and maybe surpass us bc Bauer is an ex-Dodger. The Dodgers are also a team that couldn't sign him, obvi. Maybe the Padres because the false accuser is from there so maybe that takes them out of it? Couldn't see Seattle either.

Almost any other team in the league I could squint and see it as a possibility. But even then they would either need an owner with the balls to deal with the blowback, a fanbase that's not going to care and/or be desperate for pitching.

The Rangers seem to check the most boxes. Could also see the Astros but not sure they need him. And then any of the Central teams finally spending money also make sense (KC, Detroit, Cincy, Pitt). Rays would normally make a lot of sense as well but given the Wander fiasco they probably want to hold off on guys like this right now.

Along the lines of TB having no fans to piss off, everyone hates the O’s owner already. Nothing to lose there from fan/media standpoint.

Ya, the O's are the obvious ones

Who knows, maybe there are negotiations underway with a few different teams

Yeah, can’t make any definitive conclusions until ST I think. If he’s not on a team Opening Day, he’s not coming back

This is why we need an outlaw team in Vegas that doesnt give a F about character issues. California state pen ala major league.

At one point the trailblazers labeled “jailblazers” had a starting 5 that each had a felony I reckon

Their business plan is too razor thin to risk it though. Is Amazon Prime renegotiating the TV deal or are they honouring the Bally deal?

He's always been a ********

He had pissed off most of the league even before these accusations

3/60M come on down Chappy

Every day that goes by with Bellinger and Chapman unsigned makes me think it is more likely they end up signing something like that.

3/$60M with an opt out after year 1 so he can have another shot at a big deal if he wants.
