G-Snarls Community Moderator Posted August 6, 2023 Posted August 6, 2023 He's now the sparkplug that Springer is supposed to be
Krylian Old-Timey Member Posted August 6, 2023 Posted August 6, 2023 Force every Bluejay player to grow a mustache.
WryNGinger Verified Member Posted August 6, 2023 Posted August 6, 2023 Dirty sanchez moustache power! (don't worry, I have already reported myself for racism)
RobinThicc Verified Member Posted August 6, 2023 Posted August 6, 2023 5'9 is the ideal height, Schneider proves it
Spanky99 Old-Timey Member Posted August 6, 2023 Posted August 6, 2023 He's now the sparkplug that Springer is supposed to be Springer's on fire, dude?
Jonn Old-Timey Member Posted August 6, 2023 Posted August 6, 2023 Oh he is very appreciated trust me. 9 hits and 3 games. Couldn't possibly ask for more lol.
Captain_Obvious Verified Member Posted August 6, 2023 Posted August 6, 2023 Now call up Barger lol He is nowhere as good as Schneider has been. Lost in the all the homeruns the fact that Schneider had been running a ridiculous 18.4 BB% in AAA while maintaining a respectable-for-a-power-hitter 21.9 K% (down from 26ish in 2022). Even my OBP crush Nootbaar never got close to being that good. If you want to promote a player from AAA, it would have to be Horwitz and his 16 BB%. I really hope the Jays give him a spot on the roster next year by trading Vlad or keeping the DH spot vacant.
G-Snarls Community Moderator Posted August 6, 2023 Posted August 6, 2023 Springer's on fire, dude? Super happy about that too Hope he keeps it up
Skinny Wolf Verified Member Posted August 6, 2023 Posted August 6, 2023 Now call up Horwitz and put Vlady jr on DL with mental health issues

It would be unusual to call up a guy hitting in the .230s in the minors though. I guess the question would be a) what is current health? (he had an elbow issue) is the .235 bad luck (ie hard hit rate and stuff) c) how is his defense ? d) is he better than Paul De Jong considering everything ?
John Balkabella Verified Member Posted August 6, 2023 Posted August 6, 2023 My favourite Schneider moment so far is him busting his ass in Game One to beat the throw on a routine grounder. Didn’t really care that he beat the throw, loved the hustle. Hope he never loses that. Man, that was a fun time watching him this series!
Pendleton Old-Timey Member Posted August 6, 2023 Posted August 6, 2023 Started posting about Schneider here way back in May. I expect my trophy in the mail any day now
WryNGinger Verified Member Posted August 6, 2023 Posted August 6, 2023 70ish games left so Schneider will end up with... 40 HR's 120 RBI's 210 hits Easy lock for AL rookie of the year?
Eat My Shatkins Verified Member Posted August 6, 2023 Posted August 6, 2023 If Springer, Guerrero and Manoah played near their abilities this year, the division would be close to locked up. And Kirk

goldbug103 Verified Member Posted August 7, 2023 Posted August 7, 2023 Davis Schneider is sort of what Fatty G was supposed to be. Let’s hope that he can keep this up. Trade Fatty and bring up Horwitz.
BlueBaller Verified Member Posted August 7, 2023 Posted August 7, 2023 Thanks for making the Jays fun to watch!
Captain_Obvious Verified Member Posted August 7, 2023 Posted August 7, 2023 Davis Schneider is the top searched MLB player on Fangraphs now.
JFD Old-Timey Member Posted August 7, 2023 Posted August 7, 2023 Has a better WAR than Vladdy already lol
glory Old-Timey Member Posted August 7, 2023 Posted August 7, 2023 Schneider turning into a legit 2B option for 2024 would be a huge development for this team. They have 4 holes to fill next season (2B, 3B, LF, DH). Filling at least one internally would be great.

Schneider filling 2B, Horowitz replacing Belt at DH/1B, using the team option on Whit for LF, and then grab a cheap plug for 3B and trade/release once Barger/Martinez push for a call-up to take 3B.

I'd be all for bringing Merrifield back but certainly not at the price of $18 million. He's had a nice bounceback season but I'm not sold on him being able to recreate his 2023 success.
InsideThePark Verified Member Posted August 7, 2023 Posted August 7, 2023 In 3 games Davis Schneider has as much fWAR as Vladdy, Varsho, Espinal, Biggio, and De Jong have combined for the Jays this season. 15 PA and 0.6 fWAR 1266 PA and 0.6 fWAR
Arjun Nimmala Vancouver Canadians - A+ SS It's been slow going at the start of the season for Nimmala, but on Sunday, he was 3-for-5 with his 3rd home run and 3 RBI. Explore Arjun Nimmala News >
