Laika Community Moderator Posted April 1, 2025 Posted April 1, 2025 Otto Lopez is the one that got away isn't he

Elite defensively at second with previous reps all over the place, good speed, and while I don't think the bat is that legit due to the lack of power, the hit tool appears to play. Probably few teams he gets a chance to prove himself like he has on the Marlins, so it was for the best. He was also brutal in 2023 at AAA so it made sense at the time to let him go. Cool to see guys like him and Griffin Conine sort of stick at the MLB level without being good enough to be actual stars that you don't fully regret giving up on them. Spanky99 and BatFlip 2

Orgfiller Old-Timey Member Posted April 7, 2025 Posted April 7, 2025 Romano has had a rough start to his Phillies tenure. They were pretty loud this offseason after we cut him loose but you don't hear too much from them anymore. Spanky99 1

But the innings he's eating up! Think about the stability that his 83 mph floaters and vetrin presents are providing to the Yankees bullpen. Spanky99 1

Orgfiller Old-Timey Member Posted April 9, 2025 Posted April 9, 2025 Apparently Steven Matz is now a reliever for the Cardinals. He officially can no longer strike anyone out, on the last year of his 4/44 deal that Pete Walker got for him. In Matz' defense - and Pete Walker's too, for bringing him back to life - he was decent in '22 and '23 but has dealt with a myriad of injuries.
Jonn Old-Timey Member Posted April 9, 2025 Posted April 9, 2025 Yarbrough crashing out with the Yankees only to come back here on a minor league deal is my dream ending.

By the time Martin reached the MLB he was a 45 FV prospect with an okay hit tool, no power and an iffy defensive home. The book was out on him by his second professional season. Angrioter Old-Timey Member Posted April 19, 2025 Posted April 19, 2025 Romano 0,2 IP, 6 hits, 2 HRs, 6 ER against the marlins
Orgfiller Old-Timey Member Posted April 23, 2025 Posted April 23, 2025 Romano blows another one. Going for the 10th inning save, he allows a groundball to advance the runner, a deep double to score the tying run, IBB, strikeout, bloop single to lose the game. Bunch of hanging sliders. Fastball didn't even look bad but he hardly used it. Spanky99 1
