G-Snarls Community Moderator Posted April 9, 2024 Posted April 9, 2024 (edited) Chapman signing will not look good no matter what the price. He has been terrible so far (I know small sample), however add that on to last year and I am thankful the Jays did not get him. IKF has been better IMO for half the price. Ridiculously small sample size, Chapman so far this year: .182/.250/.364 wRC+ 72 BB 6.3% K 22.9% Yeah... If he was our starting third baseman we would all bitching about him right now for sure. I know us Edited April 9, 2024 by G-Snarls

Maybe he will have a cold April and a hot 5 months after. The opposite of ‘23. It’s a long season.

G-Snarls Community Moderator Posted April 24, 2024 Posted April 24, 2024 I will say the team is generally good at deciding who NOT to bring back
Omar Old-Timey Member Posted April 24, 2024 Posted April 24, 2024 I will say the team is generally good at deciding who NOT to bring back Is that because everyone that we had was crap or that we have a discriminating front office?

I looked up the baseball savant breakdown of his last start and he is featuring an interesting pitch mix. He threw 30% cutters, 27% change ups, 22% 4 seamers and 21% sliders. He averaged only 91 MPH on the 4 seamer but the change up played like an elite pitch yielding a 62% whiff rate. At a glance he appears as though he might be a Trevor Richards type or something of that sort.

I am sure we will see later this year. The Cards have some s***** old pitchers.

Shocking! CD - are you and Buck paying attention?
Omar Old-Timey Member Posted May 1, 2024 Posted May 1, 2024 So the 6-23 White Sox dfa Pillar and the Angels pick him up? What a hopeless org. I feel sorry for Trout.

CD - are you and Buck paying attention? You have a Brand going at this point. Is this 1982, that year you didn’t have a prom date? Do you think a guy throwing 95 automatically means he can even play A ball? “Feel for pitching” is exactly what makes someone a pitcher. It’s really that simple. Of course someone throwing 90-92 isn’t going to have the same wiggle room at the mlb level with bbs and missing spots, but velocity without much of else, isn’t any better.

Stangstag Old-Timey Member Posted May 4, 2024 Posted May 4, 2024 Can’t believe the Dodgers are playing this bum 2 WAR OF.

Brownie19 Old-Timey Member Posted May 5, 2024 Posted May 5, 2024 Moreno is down to .229 average, 90 wRC+ and zero power. Walking more is about the only positive. Perhaps we did ultimately keep the best catcher - Jansen
connorp Old-Timey Member Posted May 5, 2024 Posted May 5, 2024 Bum? Not the first time you whiffed, won’t be the last.

Perhaps we did ultimately keep the best catcher - Jansen Jansen is definitely the best catcher of the 3 overall. Just extend him and hope he stays healthy.
