el duque Verified Member Posted April 4, 2023 Posted April 4, 2023 The Killer Bees (Berrios/Bassitt) are going to give us all ulcers this season. there are three missed Belt
Stangstag Old-Timey Member Posted April 4, 2023 Posted April 4, 2023 Mostly in high light reels. You? You mean ONLY in highlight reels?
gruber92 Old-Timey Member Posted April 4, 2023 Posted April 4, 2023 His career 100 wRC+ has come in his ages 23-25 seasons. 111 against RHP btw. Ever heard of projecting a young hitter with good pedigree to get better? Or do you only save that for players drafted by the Blue Jays? We're in a WS window. The team needs a proven run producer batting clean up. Let Varsho progress in the six spot and then reassess later in the year. He's still young so what's the rush? He batted clean up vs LH starter already by the way.
DigitalRock Old-Timey Member Posted April 4, 2023 Posted April 4, 2023 Kirk is the best infield hit hitter of all time
Orgfiller Old-Timey Member Posted April 4, 2023 Posted April 4, 2023 Another one of those games where Berrios didn't even have to be good, he just had to not get f***ing obliterated. Yup, 5 runs and the ABs have been pretty competitive from about the 3-4th inning onwards, but Berrios blew up to such an extent that they never had a chance to even get back into it.
Masterbather Verified Member Posted April 4, 2023 Posted April 4, 2023 That's pretty much the last thing anyone would have expected
Jonn Old-Timey Member Posted April 4, 2023 Posted April 4, 2023 Mostly in high light reels. You? Zac Gallen is on my Keepers League Fantasy team so watched quite a bit of Dbacks games last year. I also own Drey Jameson and Corbin Caroll
Solaxys Old-Timey Member Posted April 4, 2023 Posted April 4, 2023 Feel like we should let Lukess hit DH instead
Grant77 Old-Timey Member Posted April 4, 2023 Posted April 4, 2023 Missed the game, but Berrios must have been a treat to watch.
gruber92 Old-Timey Member Posted April 4, 2023 Posted April 4, 2023 Who should hit 4th? Right now, Chapman. Hopefully Belt returns to form where he can also be an option. It's a contract year for Chappy, I'd bat him clean up a lot.
Jonn Old-Timey Member Posted April 4, 2023 Posted April 4, 2023 Kikuchi is the stopper we need tomorrow.
Raezor19 Verified Member Posted April 4, 2023 Posted April 4, 2023 I know I signed up in 2019 and didn't post until tonight but I'll be back..... Cheers all.
gruber92 Old-Timey Member Posted April 4, 2023 Posted April 4, 2023 Kikuchi should do well vs the Royals line up.
Orgfiller Old-Timey Member Posted April 4, 2023 Posted April 4, 2023 Missed the game, but Berrios must have been a treat to watch. The most frustrating part of the outing is that aside from blowing up, it came in spurts every other inning. First inning hot garbage, second inning unhittable, third inning shaky but decent, fourth inning blows up again, 5th inning unhittable. The command just blows up every other inning out of nowhere and he becomes batting practice, but the stuff never suffers.
Masterbather Verified Member Posted April 4, 2023 Posted April 4, 2023 Kikuchi should do well vs the Royals line up. Unless he just implodes and can't find the strike zone. Which there is a more than good chance could happen.

Terminator Old-Timey Member Posted April 4, 2023 Posted April 4, 2023 Look at this dude's 4-seamer location lmao The majority of them are right over the plate, belt high.
Stangstag Old-Timey Member Posted April 4, 2023 Posted April 4, 2023 Very winnable game, starting pitching has absolutely failed us in 3 out of 4 games so far. Frustrating.
Terminator Old-Timey Member Posted April 4, 2023 Posted April 4, 2023 It's like he has the yips. But instead of not being able to find the plate, he's incapable of throwing his fastball for anything other than middle of the plate belt high.
BTS Community Moderator Posted April 4, 2023 Posted April 4, 2023 Look at this dude's 4-seamer location lmao The majority of them are right over the plate, belt high. My god. Nothing but belt-high fastballs over the plate. That's how you get knocked around my the worst lineup in baseball.
Terminator Old-Timey Member Posted April 4, 2023 Posted April 4, 2023 Maybe instead of dying his hair and getting rocked for Puerto Rico in the WBC he should have been working on locating his fastball. Garbage player and I hate him for ruining my night.

Maybe this all stemmed from a HBP and now he’s scared to nibble corners?? Has there been a major HBP injury Berrios was involved in at some point between 2021-2022? Maybe in spring training of 2022?

Curve locations look mostly fine Sinker locations look mostly fine, even though a few drifted into the zone and got hit The four seamer locations are a nightmare I return to my theory that he should have spent all off-season developing a cutter and/or a breaking ball variant and he should scrap the four seamer. Sinker/Cutter/Curve Even if he's not going to change his pitches, his game plan is a nightmare. No high four seamers???

Other than low and in to lefties his pitches to the corners of the zone seem remarkably sparse. The guy doesn't know how to paint the corners. He probably has no idea where his pitches are going. Pete Walker has to break him down and start from scratch in season. What a nightmare.
Arjun Nimmala Vancouver Canadians - A+ SS It's been slow going at the start of the season for Nimmala, but on Sunday, he was 3-for-5 with his 3rd home run and 3 RBI. Explore Arjun Nimmala News >
