Omar Old-Timey Member Posted October 1, 2023 Posted October 1, 2023 Define dead horse. Dogg has beaten the proverbial dead horse for 20 years that I know of. Anyone’s commitment to a schtick pales in comparison You're right. Never underestimate another mans commitment to trolling.
glory Old-Timey Member Posted October 1, 2023 Posted October 1, 2023 Now that the Jays are in, yes, tank for the better position. The Astros can still win the West if they win tomorrow and the Rangers lose, so they should have something to play for. The Jays benefit by losing so put the shittiest lineup out there possible.

Prediction on the lineup. Heineman, Espy, Eden, Schneider, Varsho, Biggio, Whit, Chappy, and Bichette DH.
Omar Old-Timey Member Posted October 1, 2023 Posted October 1, 2023 Prediction on the lineup. Heineman, Espy, Eden, Schneider all starting Chapman should start. He still needs to work on his swing.
John_Havok Old-Timey Member Posted October 1, 2023 Posted October 1, 2023 Chapman should start. He still needs to work on his swing. Yeah, I hit submit too soon. Basically all the fatties sit, Belt, plus George and KK.
Jays24 Old-Timey Member Posted October 1, 2023 Posted October 1, 2023 Tank for Twinkies? I mean we're not going to give our best effort tomorrow in terms of lineup, but should we go out of our way to not make strategic decisions to try to win the game also? This shouldn't be a question. It's a must lose tomorrow lol
glory Old-Timey Member Posted October 1, 2023 Posted October 1, 2023 Prediction on the lineup. Heineman, Espy, Eden, Schneider, Varsho, Biggio, Whit, Chappy, and Bichette DH. CA Heineman, 1B Biggio, 2B Schneider, SS Espinal, 3B Chapman, OF Merrifield, OF Varsho, OF Eden, DH whoever How they get through 9 innings pitching wise is the question. They need to call up Francis or some other move. If only Manoah was available. When you need a loss, I can't think of a better SP to go to in 2023.
Stangstag Old-Timey Member Posted October 1, 2023 Posted October 1, 2023 Lineup tomorrow: LF-Merrifield 1B-Biggio DH-Vlad 2B-Schneider 3B-Chapman CF-Varsho SS-Espinal C-Heineman RF-Eden

I figured Bo to DH because of him coming off injury most recently, just to get an extra 4 PAs.
Governator Community Moderator Posted October 1, 2023 Posted October 1, 2023 Funny thing is, I can imagine TB might be throwing the game tomorrow as well so they can avoid Astros playing on the road. This could be interesting
hanton Old-Timey Member Posted October 1, 2023 Posted October 1, 2023 Some players might not want the rest

Delgalladay Verified Member Posted October 1, 2023 Posted October 1, 2023 I don’t care who we play. Anyone can beat anyone. They just need to show up. Plus I imagine the Rays were proud of themselves thinking they forced Gausman to pitch tomorrow so it’d be funny if he destroys them.
G-Snarls Community Moderator Posted October 1, 2023 Posted October 1, 2023 Lineup tomorrow: LF-Merrifield 1B-Biggio DH-Vlad 2B-Schneider 3B-Chapman CF-Varsho SS-Espinal C-Heineman RF-Eden Who pitches? Francis?
John_Havok Old-Timey Member Posted October 1, 2023 Posted October 1, 2023 Who pitches? Francis? Probably just a matter of who is available. Not Hicks, Yimi or Richards for certain given their recent workloads. Pearson and Francis for sure. Cabrera, Green, Mayza and Swanson will be available. Romano would be available but I’m sure they’d rather like to avoid that.
harvey16 Verified Member Posted October 1, 2023 Posted October 1, 2023 Jays can still win tomorrow and finish in the 3rd WC spot if the Astros win and the Rangers lose. Bottom line is the Astros need to win tomorrow for the Jays to have a chance to play the Twins. Astros lose and we play the Rays no matter what we do tomorrow.
Terminator Old-Timey Member Posted October 1, 2023 Posted October 1, 2023 Call up Manoah and let him throw 9. We need to lose tomorrow because the Twins will be easy to beat.
Jonn Old-Timey Member Posted October 1, 2023 Posted October 1, 2023 Scenarios I want Minnesota so bad. We have nothing to play for today. Both Texas and Houston are playing for the Division so I think they both go for the win.

Not sure I'd rather play the Twins though. They've been on fire lately and have better starting pitching then the Rays.

max silver Old-Timey Member Posted October 1, 2023 Posted October 1, 2023 (edited) Spanky is secretly cheering for the Orioles in the Postseason. There are several board members openly cheering for the Orioles, but I get the feeling Spanky would rather commit seppuku instead of cheering for anyone other than the Blue Jays. I agree this Max! He is as hard core true blue glass half full Jays fan as exists. I loathe the O's. Edwin's 2016 walk off is one of the best moments this Board ever had trolling the "O's Hangout" with their "Real life celebrity" Roy Firestone. Boxy's finest hour. I cant imagine anyone cheering for them over the Jays.
