keggy Verified Member Posted September 12, 2023 Posted September 12, 2023 This is a releasable offense. What are Davis Schneider, Horowitz, and other young players at AAA going to learn from this? How much clubhouse tension will there be between the goofs like Manoah and the professionals like Bichette and Varsho? Do you think this will encourage Kirk and Guerrero to work on their conditioning? Shapiro, Atkins, and Schneider need to take a look in the mirror and take control of the organizational culture they have created. If they need any help, look at the Braves organization and how they discipline Acuna versus how the Jays "discipline" Guerrero. Or better yet, send Buck into the clubhouse for a week. Manoah is out of control, but Atkins' limp wristed response by covering it up is a much bigger problem than optioning one s***** pitcher.
mphenhef Verified Member Posted September 12, 2023 Posted September 12, 2023 Wait.. we hate Ricky Romero? I was only disappointed that he crashed and burned very quickly after being successful. I never thought he was an *******. I actually loathe Manoah for being a giant douche incapable of recognizing how much he stinks now. He actually thinks figuring it out at the major league level while costing the team more wins than he already has is acceptable. The fact he is willing to destroy the experience of not only his teammates, but the millions of fans hungry for the team to make the playoffs for his own selfish gains is the peak of douchebaggery. f*** him. I hope he never pitches again at the major league level. I've thought Manoah was a douchebag since day one, but at least he was our douchebag if that makes sense. I hope he figures it out, but I also wouldn't be surprised if he is done. This year had to be humbling even for a huge ego.

He should rot in either in the minor leagues or inactive list.

I think what BigC is referring to with respect to being talked about like Romero is more about "what could have been" not in terms of likeability. No one hated Romero, we were just let down. No one likes Manoah right now and we're let down.

If he wasn't a Blue Jay, I would actually wish that he fails at everything he does moving forward.

Yeah you either trade him for something close to his actual value, or just make him the SP7 until he runs out of options.
Stangstag Old-Timey Member Posted September 12, 2023 Posted September 12, 2023 Trade Manoah for an infielder Manoah to the Cards for Tommy Edman

L54 Old-Timey Member Posted September 12, 2023 Posted September 12, 2023 Somewhere Alex Verdugo is laughing right now. And Gerrit Cole I’d be embarrassed to show my face if this was me. Talked all that s*** and can’t back any of it up
L54 Old-Timey Member Posted September 12, 2023 Posted September 12, 2023 Manoah to the Cards for Tommy Edman Too bad Schneider can’t play third because it’s easier to find a guy who can play second
RustyTrombone Verified Member Posted September 12, 2023 Posted September 12, 2023 Honestly Alek should just hang up it up and commit seppuku at this point.

Sorrow Verified Member Posted September 12, 2023 Posted September 12, 2023 Im not surprised Manoah and his agent are looking to say he’s injured so he accrues MLB service time and pay for super two status this winter and with him having a lot of success even with a bad year this year he’d be in line for a pretty hefty pay raise.
keggy Verified Member Posted September 12, 2023 Posted September 12, 2023 Buck Martinez? How about no. Yeah you're right, we should rehire Montoyo to come give everyone a big hug
Brownie19 Old-Timey Member Posted September 12, 2023 Posted September 12, 2023 Yeah you're right, we should rehire Montoyo to come give everyone a big hug You want to hire Buck so he can be 'tough' with a group of adults? Good luck with that. Buck is also a moron.
gruber92 Old-Timey Member Posted September 12, 2023 Posted September 12, 2023 Vladdy batting third again tonight vs Sherzer. I would do.. Springer Bo Horowitz Schneider Biggio Vladdy KK Heinamen Varsho
THANOS Old-Timey Member Posted September 12, 2023 Posted September 12, 2023 Vladdy batting third again tonight vs Sherzer. I would do.. Springer Bo Horowitz Schneider Biggio Vladdy KK Heinamen Varsho Perfect line-up, unfortunately they don't seem to want to budge him paat clean-up, regardless of merit.
THANOS Old-Timey Member Posted September 12, 2023 Posted September 12, 2023 End of Belt's time in TOR? He did amazing for us, if so! Horwitz will get a nice run here now to prove himself.
G-Snarls Community Moderator Posted September 12, 2023 Posted September 12, 2023 Dammit Sucks to have Belt out right now
G-Snarls Community Moderator Posted September 12, 2023 Posted September 12, 2023 What about Chapman???

I hope he never pitches again at the major league level. I hate Ricky Romero because they drafted him over Tulo. I remember screaming at my computer monitor on MLB.com in 10th grade. It was miracle he reached 6 and the Jays still f***ed it up. Got him later which was cool but his prime already happened.

Maybe with more patience he would have been fine a few days from now. The lineup without him is pretty short. All the other lefties are assumed non-factors most nights.

Some big bats going down for us down the stretch here… not ideal.
Stangstag Old-Timey Member Posted September 12, 2023 Posted September 12, 2023 Also, anyone wanting to re-sign Belt are out of their f***ing minds. Dude’s body will not hold up at all going forward. I would be cautious about KK too. We should be happy with what we got out of both guys and send them packing with a handshake.

I'm not sure either gets a raise, given their ages.
