I think it is ok to play Craig Biggio's son. Why not bench Vladimir Guerrero Sr's fat son instead?

Cavan Biggio is tied with Brandon Belt for the best wRC+ on the team since May 23rd.

He's somehow been hitting even better in August and has the platoon advantage, while also being excellent in the field lately.

I'm not opposed to playing Schneider, but certainly not at Biggio's expense. We have to ride the hot hitters until they cool off.

Correct. Since May 1st

Biggio - 123 wRC+, 0.6 WAR

Vlad - 103 wRC+, -0.3 WAR

Chapman - 92 wRC+ BARF

Biggio has been our 3rd best 'regular' hitter since May 1st behind Bo and Belt. Ahead of 2 hit Whit even.

Lol pick whatever arbitrary start date you want. Biggio has been ass for 3 years running.

Comical how the guy has a decent 130 ABs spread across 3.5 months where he's given the platoon advantage against soft pitching and he barely get his OPS across .700 and now he's a mainstay in the lineup?

Not only do you all prefer that guy over Babe Schneider who had one of the best debuts in baseball history but some are even suggesting we should bench Vlad for him? lmao

In my opinion, it's important at this point in the season to roll with the guys who are hitting the best right now and that's clearly Biggio.

Track record means less to me now than it did in April and May. Biggio is doing something to help the team win every game, so he keeps playing until that changes.

Yeah, It's entirely unfortunate that Chapman is down right also, which means the left side of the IF is a pool noodle fight. He's just the odd man out through no fault of his own. I'd be sorely tempted to play him at 3B over Espinal though. I suppose the only reason they aren't is because they know he's not good enough defensively.

Game winning RBI last night, what more do you want from him??

I think keeping Cavan away from 3rd is more like “don’t mess with a good thing”. His issues all began when he was annointed the opening day 3B in 2021 and it just spiraled from there.

Schneider should be playing over Espinal/DeJong (whoever is not playing SS).

They clearly do not have him as a good enough 3B defensively or he would be.

Run prevention is how this team is going to win right now at the end of the day. It's boring as f*** to watch, but ... what can ya do. Everyone knows BIggio blows at 3B, and they obviously think Davis isnt good enough to man the hot corner either or he'd be starting there over Espinal.

THe only defensible way to get Schneider in the lineup against RHP right now is to give Whit a day off which would allow Schneider and Biggio to play 2b/LF, start him at 3rd knowing he's not good defensively there - or just play him over Biggio at 2B. I can understand the arguments both ways for Schneider vs Biggio at 2nd, but dont know enough about his D at 3B to make an informed opinion there so I have to believe the FO knows what they are doing there in not starting him at 3b.

Just wanted to take a minute to relish in the fact that Anthony Bass is STILL an unemployed bigot who probably cost himself millions of dollars.

Eat it!

He got his full salary from this Season. He wll probably let all the nonsense blow over and sign a deal in the off-season where it will make less noise. He and other teams probably don’t want the drama right now.

Correction, I think Babe Schneider should play over Vlad

No Schneider again tonight. This team's management is out to lunch. I'm sure Merrifield could play third for one game in order to get Schneider's bat in the line up.

Biggio to first and Schneider to second

Problem solved

Yes but isn't Schneider one of the guys hitting the best right now?

Hit the crap out of the ball in AAA and is slashing .400/.516/.680.

If Biggio is so entrenched in the lineup that a modest 120 ABs over the course of 3.5 months makes him a new mainstay in the lineup we might as well trade Schneider in the offseason.

31 plate appearances, come on Term

vs RHP since May 1 for Biggio

.265/.368/.462 with a 134 wRC+

Maybe John Schneider doesn’t want to be accused of nepotism?? Ever thought of that?

Ok and it's 117 ABs for Biggio against RHP since May 1. So what's your point?

What a shift. Gibby put Juan Francisco at 3B because he said f*** it and just put the best bat available there, while the Jays now will put 70 wRC+ players on the field just to improve the defense.

I guess with the way the Jays are built, they value the run prevention more.

My point is that you’re right and John Schneider and Ross Atkins are intentionally sabotaging the Jays post season chances by playing Biggio.

Job security? Who cares! f*** this team

Anybody here think Biggio or Espinal would put up a .950 OPS in AAA? Just asking..

Biggio probably. Espinal wouldn't but he would probably hit for a high average.

The point is that's a pretty good player.

I think Davis Schneider has become massively overrated around here because he popped a couple homers early on

I'm not taking the board boners seriously. I chose to believe that most posters here know better.
