Seems bizarre at this point in ‘21 and ‘22 that some were advocating a long term deal for him $350M + vehemently. Some may still be.

God I would have to clench my butt cheeks cheering for a Blue Jay team with him on it. Would be the first Blue Jay I could not stand for a long time... I thought there was some contention from the FO and him when he left? The Cubs probably planted that story to drive up the price...

No it makes sense they would be interested. They are looking at a pitcher that can start a playoff game. I am sure they feel great about giving the ball to Gausman and Berrios. But not feeling so hot about Bassit, Kikuchi, or Manoah, and Ryu is a bit of a wild card although I do believe he will be in this rotation.

Stroman is a lot older now, I imagine he’s not such a lunatic on Twitter anymore, although I haven’t followed in a long time.

 

I always loved his mound presence and competitiveness, he’s also good as f this year. But yeah, rental sucks.

Bad blood on both sides is one reason why a team desperate for pitching opted to trade one of its most talented arms.

But barely holding on the wild card spot and will have to outplay the Yankees and Astros down the strech to hold onto one.

 

The Yankees are going to go crazy at the deadline more than likely. And the Astros are the Astros. The real wild card is Baltimore. Who of outside maybe Atlanta have been the most consistent team in Baseball.
