Spanky99 Old-Timey Member Posted July 16, 2023 Posted July 16, 2023 Whit was not thrilled with the Vladdy ice bath tonight.Way overdue to put that to rest. Yeah, he was not impressed...
BigCecil Old-Timey Member Posted July 16, 2023 Posted July 16, 2023 Yeah if I lived in Calgary I would get the best of the best so I didn't have to go outside too. Hey! Thats just rude. But you are right. We ain't here for the weather.
Jonn Old-Timey Member Posted July 16, 2023 Posted July 16, 2023 Yeah, he was not impressed... You have been getting a sense of this for awhile. But whose really going to tell Vlad to stop. They already took his Homerun jacket away. He’s gonna really start hating his teammates if they take this from him as well.

I love Vladdy but he needs to grow up, he's not 20 anymore. Baseball should be fun but when it becomes annoying to some of the players, then something needs to be done.

If he doesn’t, we should assume the team is ok with it. And if John can’t read the room… then idk what to say
Jonn Old-Timey Member Posted July 16, 2023 Posted July 16, 2023 It's also possible this video was taken completely out of context and Whit was just giving Vlad a hard time.

L54 Old-Timey Member Posted July 16, 2023 Posted July 16, 2023 Been saying forever that Vlad’s antics are annoying af and it’s clear everyone else thinks the same. Who cares what Vlad thinks he’s CJ Cron not Albert Pujols

Jonn Old-Timey Member Posted July 16, 2023 Posted July 16, 2023 At what cost though? Stro won't come cheap. He's a rental. He won't cost as much as you think.
Omar Old-Timey Member Posted July 16, 2023 Posted July 16, 2023 He's a rental. He won't cost as much as you think. He will cost. The Jays would have to outbid other teams.
Jonn Old-Timey Member Posted July 16, 2023 Posted July 16, 2023 He will cost. The Jays would have to outbid other teams. I just don't think any team will give a top prospect for him. I think he would fetch a couple good prospects but none of our top 3.

God I would have to clench my butt cheeks cheering for a Blue Jay team with him on it. Would be the first Blue Jay I could not stand for a long time... I thought there was some contention from the FO and him when he left? The Cubs probably planted that story to drive up the price...

No it makes sense they would be interested. They are looking at a pitcher that can start a playoff game. I am sure they feel great about giving the ball to Gausman and Berrios. But not feeling so hot about Bassit, Kikuchi, or Manoah, and Ryu is a bit of a wild card although I do believe he will be in this rotation.
bones10 Old-Timey Member Posted July 16, 2023 Posted July 16, 2023 Stroman is a lot older now, I imagine he’s not such a lunatic on Twitter anymore, although I haven’t followed in a long time. I always loved his mound presence and competitiveness, he’s also good as f this year. But yeah, rental sucks.

Dude can throw a ball well, that’s all I really care about at this point

glory Old-Timey Member Posted July 16, 2023 Posted July 16, 2023 Stroman in a playoff game > Bassitt, Manoah, Kikuchi, and Ryu coming off TJS. I very much doubt it happens, though.

Jonn Old-Timey Member Posted July 16, 2023 Posted July 16, 2023 Jays currently have the 6th best record in MLB. But barely holding on the wild card spot and will have to outplay the Yankees and Astros down the strech to hold onto one. The Yankees are going to go crazy at the deadline more than likely. And the Astros are the Astros. The real wild card is Baltimore. Who of outside maybe Atlanta have been the most consistent team in Baseball.
