Jack Flaherty is getting absolutely caved

"The Orioles are doing something never seen before since the dawn of baseball. Acquiring a pitcher to supplement their average rotation who proceeds to poop the bed. Truly next-level maneuvering, once again proving how far ahead of the curve this organization is." - Olerud

Jim???

Time will tell.

Tampa Bay Times update from an hour ago: A 17-year-old girl, according to the newspaper, initially came forward but is no longer cooperating.

The 17 yr old is the other girl, so it would appear to be back to just the original complainant.

Gotta let the process play out, man. Ignore the twitter clickbait.

Another s*** outing by Severino (4 IP 5R) and the Yankees lose to Atlanta 5-0

500 team and sinking

Why does Severino keep getting start after start after start

He's getting bombed tonight but before that was fine.

Blue Jays message board special announcement - The Baltimore Orioles are 3 games ahead in the AL East and 8 games ahead of our loved Blue Jays on a 60 million dollar payroll. This is entirely just a fluke and if Rogers Communications was as deranged as Peter Angelos's kid, and made the boys to lose in 2020 and then reduced the payroll from 230 million to 60 million we'd be that good too.

The Orioles got lucky in that their good prospects seem to hit the ground running and aren't obese thus their window will be a decade or so and they don't have pressure so can take risks on un-heralded players. Given the rate Vladimir Guerrero Jr. is collapsing to sub-replacement the window might be over in a matter of weeks, thus the Jays need to spend even more money and prospect capitol to get some players who can help us make the 3rd wild card and god willing win a playoff game.

But be asssured if the Jays had as bright as future as the Orioles they'd take more risks and look for savy aquisitions too.

And ha-ha... Fuji guy walked 3... Flaherty had a bad game... (guess what Orioles believe in these and they'll be back and be fine).

The Yankees are brutal you just love to see it

Rodon contract is a mess. They have no offense outside of Judge and their farm sucks.

Moreno 0-5 in a game AZ scored 8 runs in Coors.

Looking at his offensive numbers, nothing impressive so far..

Decent batting average but with low walk rate and almost non-existent extra base power

Good thing he can catch and throw

Cole and Judge aren't going to be producing like Hall of Famers forever either. Looks like a wasted year and it's going to take a pile of money in a garbage year for free agents to fix that mess.

Very happy about the Yanks season. Yanks got played into the deal with Judge after his '22 season. They have tons of dough so not sure if they care but the whole back half of that 9/360M will be a sunk cost for a sugar high. Flags fly forever so if he can get them a ring few will care. Not looking good at the moment.

The Yankees are horrible and it's awesome.

They also probably can't reset any time soon. They owe Stanton big money, DJLM $15Maav through 2026, Rizzo $17M next year, Rodon dumb money through 2028.

They can keep payroll here and try to add free agents to replace the small amount of money that is coming off the books (Donaldson, Severino, etc. about $60M coming off the books) but tricky to do that without signing scrubs or committing to more long term money. They also have several significant players rising in Arb costs.

They kind of..... desperately need Volpe and a couple of other guys to turn into cheap stars.

I don’t even know how they go about fixing that team

Yankees being bad for decade would be great for Baseball. Will alllow other brands to flourish.

They could probably trade Judge to the Mets or Angels or something if they really wanted too. Judge to the Mets, Cole to the Angels would free up a ton of salary that they would then have to spend wisely.

Can’t see Cashman swallowing his pride there though, so they’ll probably just continue throwing money at the team and hovering around a playoff spot each year

There’s no way they’re trading Judge their fans would burn the place down

Last time they looked like this it took like this was August 2016, by April 2017 they were contenders again because Judge went from OK prospect struggling to hit MLB pitching to 8 WAR guy in a blink, and Sanchez, Severino and a few others had best case outcomes (Torres joined in 2018).

Logically it is unlikely this will repeat with Volpe and Jason Dominquez looking not too special, but it will totally happen because these are the Yankees and their development will be in the 97th percentile outcome just like it was for Judge.
