Nahh f*** that designated pinch runner s***.

Don’t want the MLB to turn into a swap in/swap out sport like Basketball or my local softball league

No doubt. That's certainly one experimental rule I hope dies on the table. I dont think losing the DH should be a thing either if your pitcher just sucks, you're already at a disadvantage enough for him being garbage.

If the rule design is meant to limit openers, there's gotta be 100 better ways to do that.

As for the single disengagement.... sure experiment with it, but i doubt it chagnes much. The vast majority of guys at 1b still dont even get 1 throw over

Othani knows... LOL

Interesting, it would basically stop the opener concept so that it would only be done when truly necessary. Also for pitchers that just suck in their planned starts, it would just haul off their DH making a comeback harder.

I don’t know the option to remove Kirk from the bases but not lose his bat or Defense certainly holds an appeal.

I think it could also keep guys healthier not having to be on the bases all the time.

Every team would probably employee a designated burner which would add excitement for sure.

The one where you lose the DH one is straight up stupid though.

Early returns on Belly have been positive. Looks to be making way more contact.

He looks great and he’s definitely getting more confident again. I’m happy with our Outfield situation but glad he’s bouncing back. Could be an option again next off-season!

With the double hook rule it sounds like they're trying to get rid of openers.

I like openers. It would be fun to see Pearson and Tiedemann as openers later in the season.

They could add in some clause for if the SP just blows. Like if you're pulling a pitcher that's given up 6 runs or something like that you still get to keep the DH.

Yeah I was thinking something similar. Maybe if you pull the pitcher when you're either tied or ahead, then you lose your dh. I'd be better with that.

Why not start the innings with bases loaded! They want stupid ideas lets get started.

I'm with you on these changes, pretty dumb.

We could just go with a designated offsense, then a designated defense. 9 guys on the field playing defense, but a totally different 9 guys in the batting order, each with their own pinch runner available to run the bases for them if they don't hit a HR. All 40 guys on the 40 man roster would then be required to be in uniform for every game.

Kerry Carpenter hits a walk-off against Guardians.

Maton and him have been carrying the Tigers, insane.

Roster development would be radically different if offense and defense was split. A lot of players might make rosters that would otherwise have no chance.

I would have thought you’d despise the use of an opener.

So Peyton Battenfield is debuting for the Guardians today, and he looks absolutely nasty.

Cleveland pitching development does it again. Honestly baffling how they churn out quality starting pitching year after year.

Teams barely use them anymore. They're a non-issue.

The fact that he has solved his only Achilles' heel which was command is so scary for the league. I want an Ace reliever so bad. I have wanted one since Andrew Miller's reign of terror lol.

Hunter Greene locked in by the Reds, 6 years 53 million.

High risk/high reward signing for both parties, which probably means it's a fair deal for both sides.

This is the most reliever thing ever. Credit to the Phils of course if they actually did find the formula for fixing him, but colour me a bit skeptical that he won't randomly go back to walking 6/9 either by midseason or next year seemingly out of nowhere.

Yeah I don’t expect him to dominate all season
