Yep. His Baseball Savante page was awful on O and D. He isnt even THAT fast. 79th percentile. Chapman is 78th.

The real story is that German was told to wipe the excess rosin off his hands after the end of the 3rd inning and when he came back out for the 4th it was still there.

 

It wasn’t an illegal spider tack or other sticky stuff issue.

 

As for why he was allowed to keep pitching rather than be thrown out, that’s why Baldelli got ejected.
