If you're drinking enough to need an extra half hour to "sober up", don't f***ing drive.

Same is a bartender refusing to serve you if they think you've had enough. The 'just don't drive' argument might not hold up so well in the court of law. The establishment shouldn't really be puting the patron (who may be inebriated) in a position to use common sense.

But nobody who is inebriated is sobering up in half an hour

Tack on another half hour+ to get to your car and get moving on a road.

Well...if you're stopping in the 7th inning it's probably a bit more than 30 minutes. But then if you really want to play it safe and by the book then stop after the 4th inning.

There should be a reasonable balance. You're not going to catch every idiot who's getting fully lubricated at the game...but you also have to show that you've made a "reasonable attempt" to give people enough time for the alcohol to no longer be an issue.

Yeah there’s always going to be extremes that any measure probably won’t help. That’s not who the policies are for

I'd take the opposite stance. Cutting off beer sales in the 7th probably leads to the guy who shouldn't be driving saying to himself "Well, I can drive. I haven't had a drink in an hour" and driving still over the legal limits because he thinks he has sobered up. Cutting that off later probably lessens the thought they have sobered up enough to drive.

Also, as someone pointed out, they stopped food sales early too...this is an indicator it was more about staff/sales than it was about drunk driving.

Do we think the decision to stop selling booze at a particular inning is based on giving them time to sober up to drive home? I would have thought it was based on reducing the # of drunk idiots in the stadium causing issues (especially if the outcome of the game gets ugly).

I know it's an unpopular opinion, but I hate seeing people who just come to the stadium with the goal of getting drunk (same with people do this on the golf course actually).

I think the timing also has to do with trying to get fans out after the end of the game. You don't want people getting full beers with 1 out left in the 9th and standing around after the game socializing and finishing them.

Springs hurt, taken out. Looks like forearm strain, might be elbow.

Cleavinger did not last an inning. Cash is going to go through the bullpen, we might have a slight edge there this coming series.

That sucks about Springs. Hopefully it’s nothing major,

Rays using a lot of arms today is good though.

Orioles games are basically an average Coors experience. Their pitching is as bad as their hitting is good.

There’s been multiple bombs over the Candem wall in this game alone.

3-2 for Sox now, Rays coming back. ugh.

4 - 3 for Rays. :(

They are all hitting non-competitive pitches the other way and finding holes.

And its over 8 - 3 for Rays.

The Rays run differential counting today's game so far (leading 8-3) is +70 (100 RS/30 RA).

I don't know which is more impressive, the above or the fact that there appears to be a pretty good crowd at the Trop for a Thursday afternoon game.

So glad we didn’t sign this guy, he’s terrible

I wanted us to sign him and thought he was a good bounceback candidate, but yeah - early returns say we should be glad we avoided that one.

Jays are sweeping the Rays this weekend.

I am a pretty optimistic guy and I think we can take 2 out of 3. But expecting a Berrios win when facing Rasmussen is kinda... out there. :P
