Boston’s lineup is atrocious, I’d bet the under for them without any stress.

Starting pitching ain't great either

Just realized they picked up Tapia. Obviously not an everyday player but still. Seduced by that inside-the-parker I guess. Anytime you take on the Blue Jays discarded trash it's a problem.

Tampa Bay is best in the east this year. No team even close to them

Didn't we know this before the season started? Look at that talent. Nobody comes close.

They will run and hide with the division as they should. I always assumed the Blue Jays, at best, would be fighting for a wild card.

Not at all , currently oddsmakers pick the Jays to finish slightly ahead of tampa. Which will not happen.

Forget about oddsmakers. If you are a baseball guy, look at that team. Look at the pitching they run out there. We're not in the same universe.

Okay now look at their lineup

And look at their injury track record

The division always looked and still looks like a three horse race

Agreed

Rays Jays and Yanks all look pretty close on paper

Jays have the best offense

Yanks and Rays better bullpens

SP is hard to say. Especially with the Yankees injuries. And Berrios/Kikuchi difficult to determine expectations.

True pitching is usually the difference everything else equal and the Jays are lacking in that

SP is miles better than ours and better than the Yankees given injuries. I think even without injuries. Rays will always score enough runs. That pitching is lethal.

Haha

Might as well just cancel the season and give the WS to the Rays now I guess.

They started 10-0 against 4 teams with a combined record of 13-27 so far. All teams who are in last place in their respective divisions and were projected to be last place teams before the season even started.

It's hilarious how some people freak out only after 10 games.

Rays had a super easy schedule against some of the weakest teams and are playing really hot right now. There are still 152 games left to go. Still way too early.

Pitching wise, they have some studs. They have some strong BP arms as well. Bats will cool off over the long run.

Wouldn't everyone say the Jays going 6-4 to start the season on the road a good start? I'm happy they finished that lengthy road trip 6-4. St. Louis isn't an easy team. They won 3 of 4 against the Royals and took 2 of 3 against the Angels. It could have been worse and they could have been 4-6.

I hate the Rays

Don't give them the satisfaction of hating them. Keep treating them like the 2nd class citizens they deserve to be.

I don't think anyone is freaking out. Weak teams or not this is the Majors. Any team can beat any other team on any given night. Winning every game so far, and doing it with such gusto is a very impressive feat.

Sometimes, I feel Rays have more fans in this forum than among the people that show up to their games.

They have a lot of contact/speed though which definitely pays off in the current meta.

In any case, we face them in 3 days!

Berrios v. Rasmussen

Kikuchi v. Beeks/Fleming

Manoah v. McClanahan

I think we can take the latter 2.

Sucks that we don't face Elfin but also thankful we don't face Springs.

The W-L record doesn't open my eyes, it's more the +58 run differential, small sample or not, that's insane. Also, f*** the Rays!:)

We hate you for that too

Love probably isnt the right word, but it sure is hard not to respect the hell out an organization that gets the results they do with far less resources at their disposal than other teams.

Whatever system they have, they are always 2 steps ahead of every other org in MLB. Look at what they have done with Springs, taking a middling reliever who walks the planet to 2/3 starter who looks nearly unhittable. And if it was just one guy, sure, you'd just chalk it up to blind luck, but they seem to do this every f***ing year with someone, whether it's a pitcher castoff that turns into an ace, some s***** minor leaguer that turns into a legit back end pen arm, or a journeyman shitstick that suddenly hits 30+ bombs out of nowhere.

Eflin out for a few weeks. No plm, Taj Bradley to make his debut tomorrow. Rays just have an unending supply of quality replacements.

It's f***ing nuts. I'm not freaking out over 10 games, I knew long before these 10 games that the rays are going to be tough to top in this division. They would have to play down to us.

lmao... they were likely projected to go like 7-3 at the least with that schedule, it's not all doom and gloom. 😂

I dont want to give them to omuch credit for their current record though, they really have played the softest schedule in the MLB. Their 1st 4 series were against projected 5th place teams in their divisions, 2 of which are projected to be bottom 5 in all of the MLB. Yes, its impressive they've ran the table so far, but lets not move them up to WS favorites because they've stomped on bugs. No matter their record when they come to toronto on Friday, if we take 2 of 3, them taking out the trash doesnt mean a whole lot as far as power rankings go.
