Spanky__99 Old-Timey Member Posted March 17, 2023 Posted March 17, 2023 Sad truth... It's hard, but talk, a friend, class, teammate, family... get it out!

Someone will die for sure but s*** yah I would watch that. Some hyperbole there, but yeah. Keep the current rule changes too, that will keep the running game going.

I'm serious, you never know what people are dealing with. No reason to hate on anyone on here. I don't think you really mean what you type sometimes. I wish you the best with your struggle and hope you continue to make progress. It's definitely nothing to be ashamed of - anytime you need to talk about something we should be here for each other. I myself dealt with severe depression several years back and seem to have gotten through it. There is always a light at the end of the tunnel. It's great to see the Dodgers doing what's right.

Carlos Danger Old-Timey Member Posted March 20, 2023 Posted March 20, 2023 (edited) So my older son's elementary school is doing an online auction this week to support extracurricular activities etc. One of the items is this below. “A DAY WITH JOSE” A private 2 Hour baseball training with former Oakland Athletics outfielder JOSE CANSECO for up to 4 kids. Location will be Sycamore Field in Danville. Each child will receive an official MLB signed baseball at the end of the training. OR A round of golf with former Oakland Athletics outfielder JOSE CANSECO for up to 3 adults. Location will be Chimera Golf Club Las Vegas. Green fees and cart rental fees included. Travel expenses excluded. The online auction started today and ends in six days. So far the bid is at $1K USD. I'm not bidding on this one.. I did bid on 4 Oakland A's tickets to any game except black out games. Planning to go when the Jays are in town. Edited March 20, 2023 by Carlos Danger

Hoping the golf idea wins out I guess whoever organized this is unaware of what Canseco is actually like??
wilko Old-Timey Member Posted March 21, 2023 Posted March 21, 2023 I wonder if you get to golf with him (same cart) or it's you and a friend with him in a separate cart. If you get to cart with him I'd pick golf for sure. I can only imagine the stories you'd get from him lol.

I don’t know if he has a child filter

No idea if she was estranged from her Dad all that time, or if they were all in it together trying to survive. Probably would make a great movie. I recalled Jose doing weird things like playing in independent leagues, a boxing match, a car wash (I looked that one up) and writing his tell-alls. I assume most of that was because he needed the money.

Brownie19 Old-Timey Member Posted March 21, 2023 Posted March 21, 2023 Vaughn Grissom, sent down is surprising to me. I don't know the situation, but some thought it was to manipulate his service time and get another year out of him. I thought the new CBA somewhat eliminated that loophole, but maybe I'm wrong.
Laika Community Moderator Posted March 21, 2023 Posted March 21, 2023 Vaughn Grissom, sent down is surprising to me. It seems like Atlanta is disgusted by his defense. They must not want a defensive liability at SS given the shape of their team. If he's not the starting SS, there is really no other position for him on the roster. RIP Grissom buyers in fantasy. I'm guessing he will start getting some CF/LF reps in the minors as that looks like their weakest position on the MLB team.
