There definitely could be a match with the D-Backs. I mean, how many CF do you need? (Carroll, Thomas, Varsho, heck even Marte played 70 games in cf last year).

3 CF manning the outfield is the best defensive setup and, I don't think D-Backs are going to give up a single piece of their all-star/MVP OF.

Makes no sense for that, not even for Kirk who is moving forward (unless he makes a dramatic change in his endurance) a DH.

Maybe they do it for SP talent like Tiedemann

I get what you're saying but I dunno, I would take a young stud C and two CF over three CF.

While a good CF does very well defensively in LF or RF, a team would not be maximizing their value there. It is like playing Chapman at 1B; he would probably do it very well, but there is a lot of unrealized value.

Arizona still gets a lot of value by playing Carroll or Thomas in LF or RF, but another team could maximize their value better by playing them in CF. The smart move by Arizona is trading one of their CFs and getting the other team to pay the equivalent of their full value in CF.

Will the dimensions change with the new renovations? One pic looks like it will but another looks like it won’t.

Definitely looks like the dimensions will be changing. The walls will be shorter so they will have to push them back a bit to compensate.

The new seating map with definitely shows a different look for the OF dimensions.

We have a catcher problem. Not in a bad way, but a good way. Danny Jansen was good this year. 2 years remaining. Kirk was great. I think he fatigued a bit down the stretch. A healthy Danny Jansen next year probably helps with that. Moreno does not belong in the minors. He's ready for the bigs. Trading one makes a lot of sense. Which one do we trade?

We don't have a lot of payroll to work with. Woodruff and Burnes have 2 years of control. Would you use a catcher to try and get one of thoe players. Woodruff obviously the more realistic target. The Breweres offesne is terrible, particularly at the catcher position, but they always pitch well. Is there a deal to be made? The Brewers obviously have a lot of money to be spend. They don't seem like the team that would go all in and sign the best offensive talent to 5 year deals when they have a 2 year window when they are competing with the Mets, Braves and Dodgers to get to the world series.

No chance you get Burnes or Woodruff out of Mil ....I just saw Stearns talking the other day saying he screwed up trading Hadar and also that Stearns said the lack of depth in Milwaukee’s rotation proved costly and would merit attention in the offseason.

Brewers probably have one of the best #1-2 punches in all of baseball. They need Peralta to stay healthy. Lauer was solid. Houser isn't that great. Ashby still needs to find some more consistency, but I like his upside still. I don't see them trading Woodruff or Burnes until the trade deadline in 2024 or next offseason if they decide to cash in on one or both of them before they hit free agency. Brewers could probably use another arm in their rotation and push Houser to a swingman role and keep Ashby maybe in the minors to start the year.

Shocking to see Stearns admit that. Hader didn't pitch well at all down the stretch with San Diego, though I guess everyone in the clubhouse loved him. I'm not sure trading him or not would have made a difference of them making the Postseason, when they had Devin Williams already, though I suppose it did hurt team morale over the final two months more than anything from the sounds of it. Brewers were in first place on August 1st as well. Interesting.

Looks like the left field bullpen is closer than the right field bullpen. And center field with the fence angling out quick after the bullpen. Would be interesting to find out what the dimensions will be and see it overlayed with the old ones.

Maybe it will be the opposite of Baltimore. Everything ridiculously deep except left, if only you had a team of right handed hitters... lol. Probably not anywhere as extreme as Baltimore but a bit friendly to righty hitters.

Kinda looks Yankee Stadium-ish with the shorter RF and LF lines, than ballooning out from the RF to LF gaps. Hopefully they dont bring the fences in though, I dont want a home park with a joke for HR dimensions.

I think dimensions are undecided but it sounds like they do not want it to play much differently. It will of course be less uniform, so some random bounces.

And the total amount of foul territory will decrease once the infield part is done. That might have a big impact but who knows.

"The club’s analytics department has spent time modelling how the changes could impact the results of balls in play, searching for an alignment that will not dramatically alter Rogers Centre’s competitive nature. But it is expected that the unique angling and heights of the new outfield fences could lead to some tricky bounces for outfielders to assess.

An interesting wrinkle is that Rogers Centre’s foul territory — currently the second-largest in MLB — will be decreased to bring fans closer to gameplay during subsequent phases of the renovation. That won’t only have a positive impact on fan experience — it will likely have a positive impact on runs scored. Fewer foul balls will result in outs, extending plate appearances and giving hitters extra chances to put pitches in play."

Wow, I never would have guessed Toronto is #2 MLB for foul territory

Yeah it's surprising. It must be that every other stadium other than the Coliseum have the seats on the infield a bit closer to home.

This is the best image I could find of them all

It's the fact that the Rogers Centre has this circular cutout on the infield. Nowhere else has that other than the Coliseum!

Like, imagine if they move the seats in this much. Look how much foul territory goes away.

I like it. Maybe bump back the dugout areas a bit like they are now, but otherwise - move the fans closer!

I like it too but it wont be this offseason, as I believe I read they were focusing on beyond the fences this first year

Yeah its the outfield areas being addressed this offseason, and then the infield/bases levels are being renovated and getting new seats next offseason

important part is we should stop the one by one trade , fans got tired of it , instead of one by one trade , we should package players for better player

1. try to sign sp such as Verlander, Degrom

2. we really need big swing guys like Ohtani, Jose Ramirez

3. Honestly we need to consider to trade Bichette, he is too much over reacting

4 I would like to trade Jansen during offseason when he has value

5. Even thinking about trade Guerriel Jr sincce he doesnt produce homeruns much

Oh is that all we need to do. Atkins should be finished all that by mid-November. What's he gonna do the rest of the off-season?

obviously more bullpen needed

we need to stop collecting lottery players but need to get improved players

I feel like Bichette is like Colby Rasmus

has many fans on him but too much over reacting so need to trade him

we also need to work on Hernandez’s extension

also need to think about package Kikuchi

lots of things to do

1. Bichette has only good years. No bad years. Rasmus had a couple of good years, but had .220 with no WAR.

2. We do not need to work on Hernandez's extension. Hernandez is like Rasmus. Too inconsistent.

3. Packaging Kikuchi? For what? Kikuchi will be ace reliever or back to normal starter.

Need to find a player like Alvarez with left handed great hitting. Either get Barger to do weights and learn more patience, get Biggio to do weights (a lot) or get Kirk to do weights and switch hit. Or Hernandez to switch to left. If he switches to left I think then maybe we work on his contract.

You missed obvious improvement. Kikuchi is lefty. He throws hard so this means he is strong. He is also Japanese like Ohtani so why not have him learn batting like Ohtani? If we train Kikuchi, he can become a strong left-handed batter.

Teoscar posted a wRC+ of 145 in 2020, 132 in 2021 and 129 in 2022. I'd argue his production is actually fairly reliable. It's just we have more people to extend than we have dollars available. I wouldn't be against an extension if we got some sort of discount. Time will tell as to how that goes.

I'm also glad to see Pearson pitching in the DWL. I know everyone has left him for dead. Hard to argue with that, but if he could somehow be a redemption story next year that would be huge for the club. We could really use something out the guy.
