Horses Fart Old-Timey Member Posted June 26, 2022 Posted June 26, 2022 It’s been a disappointing stretch but the doom and gloom losers here need to chill Chill? You’re f***ed! What’s there to chill about? I know it’s a long season but how do u not see how bad this seasons been so far. Ryu, Berrios, Kikuchi, 3/4’s of the bullpen All the inconsistency hitters at the plate. Teo, Bo, Vlad, Springer to mention a few. If we were the Yankees and we had a slide of 2-8 I’d chill.
Dagagad Verified Member Posted June 26, 2022 Posted June 26, 2022 At what point do you not commit to making a deep playoff run though? As in, get into playoffs and then let Jesus take the wheel (like Braves/Nationals/w.e) rather than do everything in your power to win the WS? The way its been going, I feel we're still ways off and just need to slow the f*** down instead of burning the farm. Personally, I’d do that every year unless you are in with a real shout at the division.

Masterbather Verified Member Posted June 26, 2022 Posted June 26, 2022 Does anybody know if Berrios was dating Miss USA and had a messy break up? I'm otherwise befuddled as to what's happened to him.
connorp Old-Timey Member Posted June 26, 2022 Posted June 26, 2022 I’m not saying not question any moves, some here are acting like it’s over, relax it’s a long season Yeah I mean what’s success though? I guess if you consider it success just to make the roulette wheel of the playoffs, no reason to panic really. But it’s not the WS-type team that it could’ve been. Depends what’s expected I guess. To some franchises sneaking into playoffs isn’t really acceptable. Prob for Jays it is though

Solaxys Old-Timey Member Posted June 26, 2022 Author Posted June 26, 2022 The red-hot Red Sox are coming - they are about to sweep the Guardians, and the way this has been playing out, its not going to be a fun time.
Eat My Shatkins Verified Member Posted June 26, 2022 Posted June 26, 2022 lol Berrios can go f*** off already. Useless f*** What is wrong with these dipshit starting pitchers? How in the actual f*** is Stripling our 2nd best starter in June?

Dagagad Verified Member Posted June 26, 2022 Posted June 26, 2022 Oh my god, we are down 5 runs. Take balls.
Dagagad Verified Member Posted June 26, 2022 Posted June 26, 2022 We have terrible at bats sometimes. Like, that guy was having a tough ish time finding the zone. Teo got unlucky but that should have been 2-0 and the one he lined out on looked off as well. Same for espinal. I don’t get it. We should still be in that half inning with teo probably on first base and Espinal at 1-1 or whatever. It’s not good enough. I’d trade teo in a heartbeat. I don’t know if it’s smart but I just want less of those kinds of at bats and we already have too many guys like that we have to keep.
Horses Fart Old-Timey Member Posted June 26, 2022 Posted June 26, 2022 No Tabby ur wrong, the Brewers DO want Kirk to leave town but would love for the rest of the team to stick around to beat their ass for another while.

Terminator Old-Timey Member Posted June 26, 2022 Posted June 26, 2022 Espinal regressed hard Yeah he and Biggio have been trending in the opposite direction, might be time for a strict platoon.

Dagagad Verified Member Posted June 26, 2022 Posted June 26, 2022 If we absolutely collapsed from here on out and that led to a front office change… I wouldn’t hate it. I’m convinced you could put the rays FO in charge and we would have competent pitching and like 2 more guys with funky stuff in the pen by next year.

Woah woah woah...let's not get ahead of ourselves here. Shatkins isn't perfect but they've been great so far and one of the better FOs I'd say. And on top of it you wouldn't hate a collapse? Lol this team is in prime playoff position and with a Gausman/Manoah duo at the top of the rotation they will be dangerous in the playoffs.
Stangstag Old-Timey Member Posted June 26, 2022 Posted June 26, 2022 Ok so u list the positive things about this season so far outside the obvious and that being Manoah and Kirk. 40-32 record, well within a playoff spot, fangraphs odds of making the playoffs over 90% still. All this despite the team playing terribly through a few stretches and half the rotation severely underperforming EDIT: and having one of the toughest strength of schedule

I just don’t think you can be good for long without elite pitching dev and we aren’t even in the top half of the mlb in that department. I like our hitting. We just suck so bad at developing pitching. Berrios is probably just bad luck and Kikuchi was a risk anyway. But, other teams make trades where they identify a guy in triple A who could be a 5th starter and they work him up to a quality no.4. Other teams identify guys they can turn into good bullpen arms. We just spend money and assets and expect that to do everything. You need to be smart as well and we aren’t smart. We’ll prob make the playoffs this year. We might win because the playoffs are luck, but we aren’t going to be good forever like the astros or the rays like this. Pitching dev is the MOST important thing and we suck.
