With a lefty on the mound, wouldn't it have made more sense to go with Kirk and Moreno both in the lineup? I know that's blasphemy since it would cut into Tapia's playing time, but that's kind of logical.

Tapia can't play RF defensively and can't hit lefties (well, he can't hit anybody). Biggio has at least hit lefties well in his career and the LH starter for the O's throws 90 mph so it's not the high velocity that Biggio has had issues with in the past. If they didn't want to use the 2 catcher lineup, then they still got this wrong.

 

Honestly, if this is the way the Jays are going to use DH moving forward, then I have no idea why they kept all the catchers.

I agree with you here. I’d take every opportunity to start biggio against soft tossers.
