We might have just witnessed history here folks. Rocket Raimel is 6'3.5'' and 118 pounds. That home run was 441 feet.

So by my count that is 3.73 feet traveled per pound that the hitter weighs. Let's call this stat HR Distance/Hitter Weight (HRD/HW). For comparison's sake, let's say Kirk hit a home run 441 feet. Kirk checks in at 5'4'' and 310 pounds. His HRD/HW for the same home run would only be 1.4. In order for Kirk to get an HRD/HW of 3.73, Kirk would have to hit a ball 1,156.3 feet which is impossible.

In other words, Rocket Raimel might have hit the most impressive home run of our lifetimes. He's THAT good. The breakout is definitely coming.

Imagine how good Tapia would be with the late 90s "balanced breakfast" diet. Bonds is lucky he didn't share eras with the Rocket or else we'd be looking at him as the second best lefty OF of that period.

Exactly. If he didn't have the build and metabolism of a prepubescent 12 year old boy we could be looking at the greatest baseball talent of all-time.

Another game that ends with the Rocket waiting on deck. Charlie's gonna get a lot of tough questions after the game.

ROCKET RAIMEL takes FLIGHT

With that range to go along with his rocket arm I have no idea how this guy hasn't won a couple of gold gloves already. Surely he'll get one this year.

Now I see why Springer is playing DH so much! #tradespringer

The Terminator is on a mission with this thread. He is determined to drag Tapia into greatness.....singlehandedly.

I thought those last two posts would get me a ton of "likes" but I only got 2. Not sure if this board doesn't like having fun anymore or what.

So like every Friday night this year I am up late googling Rocket Raimel stats and highlights.

While doing so, I think I have uncovered some of the greatest ownage of one position player over another in a half season of baseball in history. I'm talking about Rocket Raimel's utter dominance of Red Sox Catcher and 1B (LOL) Christian Vazquez.

We all remember where we were on April 21 when Vazquez hit a ball off the monster before Tapia unleashed a pinpoint 74 mph rocket to nail him at 2B. Behold, the play that inspired this entire thread:

Note Rocket Raimel blowing on the finger gun after the play.

A lesser known but equally impressive play occurred just a week later when Vazquez thought he had another fence ball:

LOL sorry bud but you'll have to do better than that if you want to get an extra base hit with the Rocket patrolling the OF.

That brings us to tonight. While leading off the top of the 6th inning with a 27-3 lead, Rocket Raimel hit a screaming chopper to Jeter Down's Syndrome (the Red Sox seriously traded Mookie Betts for this ******* LOL) who somehow fielded the ball and fired a wild throw toward the vicinity of 1B. Poor Christian Vazquez, forced into 1B duty because the Red Sox suck so bad, did his best to field the ball, but once again got utterly OWNED by the Rocket.

All 6 feet, 6 and half inches and 118 pounds of pure athleticism plowed into Vazquez at nearly 40 mph, giving the Red Sox 1B multiple concussions, broken bones, and a punctured lung. Remarkably, Red Sox trainers were able to bring Vazquez back to life with a defibrillator and he stayed in the game to hit his second homer. That's a pretty crazy story in itself but no one cares because the Red Sox lost the game 45-3. Regardless, witness Vazquez getting OWNED by the Rocket yet again:

OWNED

They probably aren't going to let Vazquez fall asleep anytime soon tonight due to concussion protocol, but once he does he'll be having nightmares of ROCKET RAIMEL.

That's great!

Raimel started off his first 30 games or so not looking like much and I know he's no defensive wizard, but his bat has really come on the last 50 or 60 games. Even removing last night's game, he's been one of the Jays best/most consistent producers for a long period of time.

Since June 1, Tapia has the 6th highest wRC+, at 146. He's turning into a Lofton.

Hell, I'm gonna go drop Belly for him in the DDL.
