Grant77 Old-Timey Member Posted April 21, 2022 Author Posted April 21, 2022 7 innings… doesn’t really count imo Fair enough. The question was when was our last complete game though.
Buster Verified Member Posted April 21, 2022 Posted April 21, 2022 that was on of the worst slides ive ever seen
Signal Verified Member Posted April 21, 2022 Posted April 21, 2022 Gurriel needs to slide head first, if that is an indication of his feet first slide. A good slide and he is there, safe.
Grant77 Old-Timey Member Posted April 21, 2022 Author Posted April 21, 2022 Boston's defense continues to give and give. Dalbec at 3B is a hilariously bad managerial decision.
Terminator Old-Timey Member Posted April 21, 2022 Posted April 21, 2022 Even if he had beaten the throw on that slide I don't think he was on the bag for very long. Horrible slide. If he goes head first to the inside part of the bag he would have been safe.
Deadpool Old-Timey Member Posted April 21, 2022 Posted April 21, 2022 Gurriel needs to slide head first, if that is an indication of his feet first slide. A good slide and he is there, safe. He wears a sliding mitt, so you'd think that'd be his default...
Terminator Old-Timey Member Posted April 21, 2022 Posted April 21, 2022 Springer doesn't look right. Probably should have sat him the whole game.
Jays24 Old-Timey Member Posted April 21, 2022 Posted April 21, 2022 Springer looking like crap again swinging the bat. Our "high performance" department seems very stupid from the outside looking in. They should just hire my family doctor to make all the calls if they're going to continue like this lol.
Deadpool Old-Timey Member Posted April 21, 2022 Posted April 21, 2022 Springer doesn't look right. Probably should have sat him the whole game. Yeah, I don't think Chuckles should have pulled the trigger on that one. Was good to see him in the game 'cause it sounded like that meant "healthy", but he's not looking 100% out there.
Jays24 Old-Timey Member Posted April 21, 2022 Posted April 21, 2022 Marcus Stroman had the last nine-inning complete game for the Jays, a win over the Angels in Anaheim on April 23, 2017. It was his second of the month. Also that was idiotic running into an out right there. So they're almost becoming as infrequent as a no hitter... gotcha lol.
Laika Community Moderator Posted April 21, 2022 Posted April 21, 2022 Put Springer on the DL immediately.
Deadpool Old-Timey Member Posted April 21, 2022 Posted April 21, 2022 C'mon Vazquez, get out here so we can keep the pitch count low.
Laika Community Moderator Posted April 21, 2022 Posted April 21, 2022 looking forward to about a week of George Springer playing 25% of the time and nursing an injury before something breaks and he's gone for 60 days
Terminator Old-Timey Member Posted April 21, 2022 Posted April 21, 2022 looking forward to about a week of George Springer playing 25% of the time and nursing an injury before something breaks and he's gone for 60 days They just can't help but pushing this guy when he's hurt! Happened last year too
Laika Community Moderator Posted April 21, 2022 Posted April 21, 2022 Just let Rocket Raimel play every day in CF. He can do it.
Stangstag Old-Timey Member Posted April 21, 2022 Posted April 21, 2022 They just can't help but pushing this guy when he's hurt! Happened last year too Its probably him pushing coaches and training staff to let him play, but they should be overruling him.
Signal Verified Member Posted April 21, 2022 Posted April 21, 2022 What a start by Gausman. You have to let him come back out to start the 9th! Agree. He is dealing and his pitch count is reasonable. That said, a run here by the Jays would make Gausman's case more convincing.
Jays24 Old-Timey Member Posted April 21, 2022 Posted April 21, 2022 We might get to witness history folks. The first complete game under Montoyo's watch. He must be fuming on the inside with thoughts of "this isn't how baeball is played." Lol
43211234 Verified Member Posted April 21, 2022 Posted April 21, 2022 87 pitches? I said 100% it would be Romano but maybe Chuckles will let him finish it.
glory Old-Timey Member Posted April 21, 2022 Posted April 21, 2022 It's been 2 games (plus an off day) since Montoyo has used Romano. He might not be able to help himself here if it remains a save situation.
Terminator Old-Timey Member Posted April 21, 2022 Posted April 21, 2022 Just let Rocket Raimel play every day in CF. He can do it. His precision accuracy on his throws overcomes his noodle arm. His blazing speed overcomes his horrible routes. He can do it.
Deadpool Old-Timey Member Posted April 21, 2022 Posted April 21, 2022 Someone at SportsNet definitely reads this forum
Terminator Old-Timey Member Posted April 21, 2022 Posted April 21, 2022 Pat talking about the last time a pitcher threw 300 innings before declaring "I think those days are GONE." Thanks Pat, important stuff.
The Cats Ass Old-Timey Member Posted April 21, 2022 Posted April 21, 2022 I’m thinking the choice to go with Gausman over Ray will turn out favourable
G-Snarls Community Moderator Posted April 21, 2022 Posted April 21, 2022 Had to go do some actual work Gausman is scoreless through 8?? F YES
Laika Community Moderator Posted April 21, 2022 Posted April 21, 2022 Pat talking about the last time a pitcher threw 300 innings before declaring "I think those days are GONE." Thanks Pat, important stuff. lmao
Grant77 Old-Timey Member Posted April 21, 2022 Author Posted April 21, 2022 I would love to get a run here so Chuckles puts Gausman back out.
dineke Old-Timey Member Posted April 21, 2022 Posted April 21, 2022 did the roids wear off for espinal already?
Deadpool Old-Timey Member Posted April 21, 2022 Posted April 21, 2022 I’m thinking the choice to go with Gausman over Ray will turn out favourable Yeah, the fact that Gausman is more than a 2 pitch pitcher tips it in his favour for me. I like Ray, and think he'll be good, but there's a lot less room for error as a fastball/slider guy.
JFD Old-Timey Member Posted April 21, 2022 Posted April 21, 2022 You have to let Gausman finish this. Boston would happily take anyone else at this point
