Solaxys Old-Timey Member Posted April 16, 2022 Posted April 16, 2022 Gotta go 5, no? Does it default to the first reliever if starter doesn't go 5? Wait Mayza was first. So the winner is the active pitcher with the lead at the end of 5th inning assuming there is no tie later on?! What a weird rule lol.

I thought it used to but now I think someone was saying there’s discretion. So maybe bc Cimber pitched the most in relief and higher leverage they give it to him?
connorp Old-Timey Member Posted April 16, 2022 Posted April 16, 2022 That was would make the stat less useless lol

Hmmm I think the scorer has discretion there to pick the non starter who had the most impact. Wins are dumb as s*** though

Wins are dumb as s*** though Maybe if you mean in the case of Jacob Degrom type scenario but if they’re picking which RP had the most impact on the game, it’s a bit more meaningful. Perhaps more so than saves
connorp Old-Timey Member Posted April 16, 2022 Posted April 16, 2022 I didn’t know this was a thing until someone posted it last week
Eat My Shatkins Verified Member Posted April 16, 2022 Posted April 16, 2022 We're gonna need the offence to go off tomorrow i think. You'd think, but many of us thought that today too.
Grant77 Old-Timey Member Posted April 16, 2022 Posted April 16, 2022 I was expecting a disaster behind the plate tonight with Zack Collins, but he was pretty decent. I'm comfortable with him starting 2 games a week for now if he plays like this.
Laika Community Moderator Posted April 16, 2022 Posted April 16, 2022 Yeah he looked fine. Maybe the D isn't as bad as the MLB level defensive stats have been
Krylian Old-Timey Member Posted April 16, 2022 Posted April 16, 2022 You'd think, but many of us thought that today too. True. But I don't feel comfortable tempting fate.
TwistedLogic Old-Timey Member Posted April 16, 2022 Author Posted April 16, 2022 My live attendance win streak somehow continued through a Ross Stripling start where the lineup also featured appearances from Tapia, Collins, Biggio and Zimmer. Also going to tomorrow's game. Let's see if I can survive new Ryu.
DigitalRock Old-Timey Member Posted April 16, 2022 Posted April 16, 2022 Tapia is leadoff today, how long before Collins in cleanup lol.
Deadpool Old-Timey Member Posted April 16, 2022 Posted April 16, 2022 Tapia is leadoff today, how long before Collins in cleanup lol. So, we still on "Chuckles doesn't make these calls, the front office does"? 'cause like... How can they be so bad at lineup construction while being so good at roster construction?
Spanky99 Old-Timey Member Posted April 16, 2022 Posted April 16, 2022 Tapia is leadoff today, how long before Collins in cleanup lol. Yikes.
THANOS Old-Timey Member Posted April 16, 2022 Posted April 16, 2022 Yikes. I'm guessing it's not necessarily Charlie's decision. That said, at least the argument could be that Tapia has a decent OBP in his career plus speed. He's basically a Ben Revere type. I mean, Vlad, Bo, Kirk, Espinal and LGJ are better choices lol, but still, I guess maybe they don't want to move the others around.
JFD Old-Timey Member Posted April 16, 2022 Posted April 16, 2022 Why does Springer need a day off today? Let him DH
Stangstag Old-Timey Member Posted April 16, 2022 Posted April 16, 2022 Why does Springer need a day off today? Let him DH He’s already DH’d twice too… something might be up
Terminator Old-Timey Member Posted April 16, 2022 Posted April 16, 2022 I like giving Springer plenty of rest after last year’s debacle of a season. Day game after a night game makes sense. He can pinch hit if needed.
Arjun Nimmala Vancouver Canadians - A+ SS It's been slow going at the start of the season for Nimmala, but on Sunday, he was 3-for-5 with his 3rd home run and 3 RBI. Explore Arjun Nimmala News >
