No Teo, no Danny. Yeah, great time to give Chapman a day off. I mean, the guy has played six games in a row. Definitely needs a rest.

Technically Chapman AND Springer since he’s DH.

Yeah this is mind boggling for game 7 of the season against THE division rival.

Hoping Tapia hits 2 dingers tonight to prove us wrong.

Gausman gonna need to be untouchable, this offense wont get anything done unless Vlad hits 3 more jacks

This certainly isn't the kind of lineup I would have predicted a week into the season. What in the world is Tapia doing in the 5 spot in the lineup? That's legitimately insane.

From mlbtraderumors.com:

The Blue Jays have placed outfielder Teoscar Hernandez on the 10-day injured list due to a left oblique strain. Infielder Gosuke Katoh has been called up from Triple-A to take Hernandez’s spot on the active roster. The Athletic’s Kaitlyn McGrath reported earlier today that Katoh had joined the Jays in New York for tonight’s game with the Yankees, and The Toronto Sun’s Rob Longley also tweeted earlier that Hernandez was thought to have an oblique-related injury.

If we get Teo back n two weeks consider it a gift.

Well 2 guys got hurt and then 1 guy has an off day. This is what happens when 3 regulars are out, the latter half of the lineup looks like s***.

I think this basically confirms that the team is really down on Biggio though. I get if he's not in the lineup over Tilapia for defensive purposes, but when both are in the lineup at the same time and Tilapia is still hitting higher than him? Pretty much confirms that Biggio is buried on the pecking order.

One shred of optimism regarding Teoscar's injury: He's had an oblique injury in the past and he came back as soon as the minimum 10-day IL stint was up.

Which is a shame.

That would feel like a minor miracle given how much pain he was in walking off the field. *fingers crossed*

Funny thing about sports, some times the team that should not win, wins. Hope tonight that is the case. Hope some of the new bench players starting surprise us all.

True that and we aren't even that much of an underdog to boot. We've got some regulars out and it's a road game but I think we have the better pitcher on the mound. Yankees are -140 tonight. Last night they were -165 and lost.

Still hoping for good things from Zimmer and Biggio.

But man there are so many under .200 in that lineup, might be a boring night :(

Its essentially 2 regulars with an offday since Springer is DH, and its already his 2nd time DHing this season.

I hope they DH Springer once a week all season long.

Wish someone could ask Montoyo in post-game interview why he keeps running Tapia over Biggio.

Just want to know the answer, and it might be a legitimate answer.

Charlie is protecting Chapman while he's in a funk from Severino. Tapia hitting ahead of Kirk, let alone hitting fifth, is even strange for Chuckles. Charlie is strategically placing his hit and run specialist in the five hole. Lol..

Surely they don't plan on using him over what we've got. Maybe if Tilapia flops (get it!?) but otherwise there is no need for Fowler's old ass.

Maybe montoyo shouldn't have wasted a day at DH for Collins and just cycled Springer/Chapman through there instead?

Someone tell Montoyo that DH is meant for your best hitter that cant play in the field that day. A 6th grader could do a better job of creating lineups for this team.

I have no problem with them DHing Springer once a week. None at all.

I have no problem with Zimmer being used their defensively once a week either. Dude has great defensive chops. It's just weird that they would be scheduling a Chapman off Day to coincide with a Springer DH day. Would seem to make more sense to have Springer in RF, Zimmer in CF, and Chapman as the DH.

Yeah that would make sense but with Chapman and his hip issues maybe they want to give him the full day off every once in a while instead of a half day off. Kirk is going to need days off now too now that he is the primary C. So getting Chapman his day off in now before Kirk gets his is a decent way to stagger their days off. Also, the team wasn't planning on Teoscar getting hurt last night and if that didn't happen this lineup would be looking much better.

The only real complaint I have with everything is Tilapia batting 5th over Biggio. I like splitting the lefties up so I'd put one of them in there ahead of Kirk so the lefties can go 5-7-9 but I would have chosen Biggio over Tilapia. So all that said, is switching 7 and 5 all that big of a deal? Not really so I don't have too much to complain about tbh.

Fowler will hit leadoff once this season, mark my word.

I’d rather see Katoh TBH

Hopefully this game gets rained out so we don't have to witness the hitting lol

Lol yeah take the rainout and we’ll play the makeup game when Teo is back
