Ron tokama Verified Member Posted December 5, 2022 Posted December 5, 2022 Why would Toronto have to add anything to Jansen, to get O'Neill? They are pretty close in value. Burleson is not worth Jansen. He's interesting but seems like a platoon guy, and possibly not a very good defensive OF. You a Cards fan? O’Neill is a year removed from almost a 6 WAR season. Even in a down year he wasn’t far from Jansens career year. Burleson is a top 100 prospect getting him for a player who arguably fits best as a back up catcher is a great get. I’m a blue jays fan but the delusional value that some of you put on Jansen drives me nuts. Nootbaar in essentially his rookie season was better than any year in Jansens career. Also the team control difference and age. No chance Jansen is netting him.
Jonn Old-Timey Member Posted December 5, 2022 Posted December 5, 2022 Tyler O’Neal was a flash in a pan. He strikes out a ton, has no plate discipline, and abuses TRT. He will never come within half of his career season in WAR again. We have moved beyond Randal Grichuk 2.0.

I'm not saying Jansen alone should necessarily get Nootbaar but otherwise fuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuckkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkk you are not allowed to slander Danny Jansen like this Jansen played 72 games and was worth twice the WAR of O'Neill last year, and they are a wash by projections Alec Burleson is f***ing fat 1B prospect
Terminator Old-Timey Member Posted December 5, 2022 Posted December 5, 2022 We all know how I feel about Danny Jansen but even I wouldn't want Alec Burleson for him. I think Jansen plus something for Nootbar works. I think Jansen for Oneill is also pretty fair.
Eat My Shatkins Verified Member Posted December 5, 2022 Posted December 5, 2022 Projections seem to like Heaney. Fangraphs says 2 years $10 million per. K rate sure jumped last year too.
L54 Old-Timey Member Posted December 5, 2022 Posted December 5, 2022 That’s really their projection for him? Yikes. Every team in baseball would pay him that, even the Pirates

Stay away from O'Neill who is just awful.
RobinThicc Verified Member Posted December 5, 2022 Posted December 5, 2022 Feel like Tieddeman and Martinez have drastically different trade value
Laika Community Moderator Posted December 5, 2022 Posted December 5, 2022 Yeah they can have Martinez haha Nice deal
Stangstag Old-Timey Member Posted December 5, 2022 Posted December 5, 2022 Feel like Tieddeman and Martinez have drastically different trade value Yeah lol. Maybe not to other teams though?? Who tf knows. I’d be fine trading Martinez for Reynolds but iffy about Tiedeman
Terminator Old-Timey Member Posted December 6, 2022 Posted December 6, 2022 I'd probably trade Tiedemann for him. I'm tired of having to dip in to FA every year for starters so I'd hate to do it and it would scare me shitless but he's a 20 year old pitcher and Reynolds projects for 4 WAR next year. 3 years of a guy like Reynolds is pretty damn valuable. I also have no idea what to make of Reynolds' defense. According to Statcast, he was average in '19 and '20, elite in '21 and horrible in '22. If his defense checks out and he's a guy we can play in center for the next three years I'd throw in Martinez on top of Tiedemann for him.
Daniel Labude Jays Centre Contributor Posted December 6, 2022 Posted December 6, 2022 I think he forgot about Moreno lol. Tiedemann isn't going anywhere unless we get a superstar (Ohtani)
Carlos Danger Old-Timey Member Posted December 6, 2022 Posted December 6, 2022 I would not trade Tiedemann Would you have traded Pearson? He was a top 5 prospect and #1 pitching prospect at one point I believe.. Now look at where we are at with him. TINSTAAP... Known quantity vs unknown...if Reynolds..
The_DH Verified Member Posted December 6, 2022 Posted December 6, 2022 Yeah they can have Martinez haha Nice deal Yep, I'd do that any day.

Jimcanuck Old-Timey Member Posted December 6, 2022 Posted December 6, 2022 for the jays to get reynolds i think a 3rd team that needs a C will be involved

We would not have regretted it one bit!

Jimcanuck Old-Timey Member Posted December 6, 2022 Posted December 6, 2022 Arizona I think the Jays would rather have one of the D'backs CF then Reynolds, for years of control reasons
BTS Community Moderator Posted December 6, 2022 Posted December 6, 2022 Heaney is a guy you sign for 1/9 or whatever coming off a down year, not a guy you sign for 3/45 after his successful 1-year contract ends.

Jonn Old-Timey Member Posted December 6, 2022 Posted December 6, 2022 Reynolds would be so sick. He might be the most underrated star in Baseball.

connorp Old-Timey Member Posted December 6, 2022 Posted December 6, 2022 Reynolds would be so sick. He might be the most underrated star in Baseball. Yeah, shame they don’t really have use for Moreno. Will be tough getting it done another way
