Next year's AL Central winner will be 73-89.

But seriously, this needed to be done, especially with the Wild Card around, and every fanbase should be able to see all the marquee stars and franchises at least once a year.

I actually hope that happens next year, because that would immediately lead to a divisional realignment for 2024 which I feel we need anyways.

I may have to drive down to Denver over Labor Day weekend.

Gotta watch Vladdy hit batting practice in Colorado. Boom...

Yikes. 4 innings of MLB SS for Dalbec, ever.

Watch this be the night the Jays don’t ground anything to SS

That 4 innings is more than the 3 innings he logged in the minors coming up.

This could be the worst defensive lineup an MLB team has fielded in the last several years.

Refsnyder - bad

Devers - bad

Cordero - horrendous

Dalbec - horrendous

Duran - real bad

They're friends again?

Absence makes the heart grow fonder.

Also, saw an article in the Sun today, Stroman did have Gibbons blocked because he thought it was a fake account. He's unblocked now.

And their two best players are FAs soon. Time for a rebuild.

And Eovaldi and Vasquez. Dount they offer QO's to all of them so at best they might be looking at 2 picks coming their way for losing a 3rd of their starting lineup and arguably their best pitcher.

Guerrero is going 5 for 5 against this IF defence. Throw Tapia in there too.

I figured. Still shows that Stroman is such a mental midget he blocks people left and right for no reason.

Merryweather, Pop, Juenger and Hernandez all pitched for Buffalo today.

Combined they had 5 IP, 0 runs, 1 hit, 3 BBs, 6 Ks

Got some bullpen depth now it seems (although I realize Juenger and Hernandez have never pitched in MLB yet)

One more dicey outing from Kikuchi and they should probably end that experiment because we clearly have better options in AAA

Vasquez was traded, mate.

We're back in the WC lead if the Angels bullpen can get a save.

Ughh... Rays' are going to win.

Oh, they might have a chance to extend this game.

Nope, wishful thinking.

But this doesn't make sense given your complaint. Actual team evaluation of "prospect value" is always ahead of the internet reporting, but even given that understanding both of those "top prospects" we traded were dropped significantly immediately after the trade by pretty much everyone. Neither player was performing well, and neither player was a "Top 100" prospect. So what exactly do you think they could have been traded for, that was "more" than Berrios? You are severely overrating the value that those two had.

I really think that Minnesota was banking on Martin being "fixable", in which case they'd potentially have landed a star prospect. Instead he has become even worse. Minnesota took on more actual risk in that trade, because they could have probably traded Berrios for any number of packages that had more exciting prospects; instead they chose to go with the one that had the recent "top draft pick" hoping his poor performance was an aberration.

For the Blue Jays, that trade looked good at the time and it still looks good IMO, even with Berrios struggles this year. He's too young with too much track record to not bounce back, even if it's next season.

No. I'm not severely over rating anyone. I simply said they could conceivably have traded for someone else to point out its the value of the prospects at the time of the deal, in the eyes of the receiver. Not what they are now. And I'm not making a complaint at all. I cant give you a name now. I wasn't a GM in the '21 deadline discussions. Neither were you. You don't really know, other than this deal for Berrios, how other teams valued those two either.

We are just assessing a deal in hindsight and how/when it should be valued. I think the deal was fine then and now. Both the prospects and what was received value is currently diminished. The extension needs to be evaluated not as part of that deal, and on its own.

In terms of Berrios bounce back his value in large part was chewing up innings with consistency staying healthy. In the AL East its tougher. Balanced schedule might help. I hope you are right. Comes down to fastball command in my view.

Angels are useless f***s

Until they cross the border than all of a sudden they become a team that can play. we need to sweep them
