JFD Old-Timey Member Posted March 16, 2022 Posted March 16, 2022 Not if it costs Manoah like some reports suggest.. f*** that
Jays24 Old-Timey Member Posted March 16, 2022 Author Posted March 16, 2022 Not if it costs Manoah like some reports suggest.. f*** that No chance that's true. It's more likely Pearson + Biggio + Martinez or Groshans.
Deadpool Old-Timey Member Posted March 16, 2022 Posted March 16, 2022 Ridiculous on its face. Not threadworthy!
L54 Old-Timey Member Posted March 16, 2022 Posted March 16, 2022 I’d prefer not to at this point. Save the bullets for a mid season trade because there will be a need at some point.
Deadpool Old-Timey Member Posted March 16, 2022 Posted March 16, 2022 No chance that's true. It's more likely Pearson + Gurriel ++ The Guardians do not have to trade Ramirez for what we feel comfortable giving them. There's zero chance we land Ramirez for Gurriel ++ (or Pearson +)
Jays24 Old-Timey Member Posted March 16, 2022 Author Posted March 16, 2022 Ridiculous on its face. Not threadworthy! It's thread worthy given the excitement going around lol. If this gets shut down quickly then we can lock it but it's good to FAP in one thread until then.
bzapple Verified Member Posted March 16, 2022 Posted March 16, 2022 I don't see it. Ramirez is an elite player and would cost elite prospects, likely Moreno + Pearson and some lesser pieces. I think Shatkins will be reluctant to give up that kind of value after the Chapman and Berrios trades already took some bites out the system's depth.
King Old-Timey Member Posted March 16, 2022 Posted March 16, 2022 No chance that's true. It's more likely Pearson + Biggio + Martinez or Groshans. If this is on the table, it would have been done already
Jays24 Old-Timey Member Posted March 16, 2022 Author Posted March 16, 2022 The Guardians do not have to trade Ramirez for what we feel comfortable giving them. There's zero chance we land Ramirez for Gurriel ++ (or Pearson +) I edited my post but I meant including both.
Daniel Labude Jays Centre Contributor Posted March 16, 2022 Posted March 16, 2022 Apparently Cleveland wants Moreno and Manoah
Stangstag Old-Timey Member Posted March 16, 2022 Posted March 16, 2022 Apparently Cleveland wants Moreno and Manoah Hellll f***in no
Jays24 Old-Timey Member Posted March 16, 2022 Author Posted March 16, 2022 Apparently Cleveland wants Moreno and Manoah I wouldn't give either based on Jose probably leaving us in 2 years since I doubt we can keep everyone.
RustyTrombone Verified Member Posted March 16, 2022 Posted March 16, 2022 I said in a another thread comping to the Olson trade gets you close to groshans, pearson, Kirk and hoglund. With hoglund gone maybe you put in orelvis instead and get another another small piece back?
glory Old-Timey Member Posted March 16, 2022 Posted March 16, 2022 If the price is as high as some are saying, then wait until the deadline.
Deadpool Old-Timey Member Posted March 16, 2022 Posted March 16, 2022 If the price is as high as some are saying, then wait until the deadline. When we're already first in the AL East by 15 games?
bzapple Verified Member Posted March 16, 2022 Posted March 16, 2022 If the price is as high as some are saying, then wait until the deadline. I think this is the likely scenario. The Guardians are cheap but they seem to still have ideas about contending this year because the Central is always winnable. If they're out of it at the deadline then trading Ramirez becomes much more likely.
saskjayfan Old-Timey Member Posted March 16, 2022 Posted March 16, 2022 Moreno would have to be in the deal. Biggio would be in the deal. They would ask for Martinez too, not sure what else. I don't think it's going to happen. Imagine though Springer Martinez Vlad Teoscar Bo Gurriel Chapman Kirk/Jansen Grichuk
FantasyNewb Verified Member Posted March 16, 2022 Posted March 16, 2022 Would a deal of Gurriel, Kirk, Biggio, and Martinez or Groshans get it done? Too much or not enough? I'm not very good when it comes to trade values.
John_Havok Old-Timey Member Posted March 16, 2022 Posted March 16, 2022 Not if it costs Manoah like some reports suggest.. f*** that Think outside the box a bit.... Ramirez + Bieber, they can have Manoah, Orelvis, Moreno and Atkins left nut.
bronson44 Verified Member Posted March 16, 2022 Posted March 16, 2022 I think I would do Moreno and other pieces not named Manoah or Martinez. It would hurt but we would have an All-Star team for the next 2 years
glory Old-Timey Member Posted March 16, 2022 Posted March 16, 2022 The one positive to moving Moreno is the Jays have Jansen for 3 more years and Kirk for 5, so they wouldn't be creating a short or long term hole by including him in the deal. But if he's as good as people think he is/will be, then it would be a tough player to trade away.
THANOS Old-Timey Member Posted March 16, 2022 Posted March 16, 2022 No chance that's true. It's more likely Pearson + Biggio + Martinez or Groshans. I'd through in Gurriel as well to avoid sending Moreno or Martinez. If they say no to below deal, I hang-up. Biggio, Kirk, Pearson (or Gurriel) & Groshans
Slade Old-Timey Member Posted March 16, 2022 Posted March 16, 2022 I would give up most guys on our top 30 but I wouldn't give up Moreno. I don't think Atkins intends to trade Moreno, the kind of reports we a hearing about him are too good.
Brownie19 Old-Timey Member Posted March 16, 2022 Posted March 16, 2022 Why are we interpreting this as 'Jays still going after Ramirez'? Kenny says it's unclear how the Chapman trade impacts them, suggesting Jays would be reluctant to move more prospects. We're basing this off the note that the Jays spoke to the Guardians about JRam playing 2nd base? C'mon guys.

Brownie19 Old-Timey Member Posted March 16, 2022 Posted March 16, 2022 I'd through in Gurriel as well to avoid sending Moreno or Martinez. If they say no to below deal, I hang-up. Biggio, Kirk, Pearson (or Gurriel) & Groshans Gurriel is so replaceable - I can't imagine anyone values him too highly now with only 2 years of service time remaining. He needs to be a 125-130 wRC+ hitter to be a difference maker.

He needs to be a 125-130 wRC+ hitter to be a difference maker. He is replaceable in a roster sense. But it would make half the team unhappy so I doubt they trade him

He needs to be a 125-130 wRC+ hitter to be a difference maker. Yeah, but he's cheap for those 2 years, which Cleveland values, and there's still potential in him. I don't know, I would hang-up at needing to include Moreno or Martinez though. You could probably send my proposed package with some tinkering and acquire Ketel Marte. I'd try that if Cleveland doesn't bite.
