Boxcar Old-Timey Member Posted March 14, 2022 Posted March 14, 2022 They traded a relatively cheap All-Star OFer in his prime to get out of Suarez' contract. It's pathetic. Who?
Boxcar Old-Timey Member Posted March 14, 2022 Posted March 14, 2022 That’s a s***** haul for Olson but classic A’s trade us 4 boring players and you can take the pick of the crop Olson was one of those 4 boring players in the deal only a few years ago.
Boxcar Old-Timey Member Posted March 14, 2022 Posted March 14, 2022 Pathetic return wow. It's not that bad, Winker is a defensive liability with literally zero batspeed and Suarez has a not great contract.

Orgfiller Old-Timey Member Posted March 14, 2022 Posted March 14, 2022 Dude. 148 wRC+ with zero bat speed is kind of legendary. Career 132 wRC+. He's trolling because he used to be a huge proponent of Winker in fantasy years before his breakout. I mean look at his signature.
King Old-Timey Member Posted March 14, 2022 Posted March 14, 2022 I'm glad Boxy is back posting again. I know we had our differences but the board is a better place with him liking ball. Cheers, Buddy!

King Old-Timey Member Posted March 14, 2022 Posted March 14, 2022 Lol. Like they need to break the trade to an agent before its official? Thats a good way to have the trade fall through
BTS Community Moderator Posted March 15, 2022 Posted March 15, 2022 Kiner-Falefa has complied with the mandatory humiliation part of joining the Yankees.
Deadpool Old-Timey Member Posted March 15, 2022 Author Posted March 15, 2022 Kiner-Falefa has complied with the mandatory humiliation part of joining the Yankees. The Yankees STILL have that stupid policy? Christ.
Terminator Old-Timey Member Posted March 15, 2022 Posted March 15, 2022 What is Votto still doing on the Reds. I'm starting to think he just doesn't want the pressure of playing for a serious team. Surely if he asked to move on they'd grant it somehow. It is weird but I think all he cares about is hitting. He lives it and breaths it. He's probably got some whacky routine down that involves walking from his condo to the ballpark and getting some sort of special sandwich at the local deli. He can't be asked to change that routine so he'll remain in Cincy forever. Also seems like playing for the Jays and dealing with the Canadian media might be his worst nightmare. But that does suck because the Reds don't deserve him.

I don’t even really get the impression that team success is that important to him, maple boners aside.
Dr. Dinger Old-Timey Member Posted March 15, 2022 Posted March 15, 2022 TBH Votto seems like an *******.

He’s been pretty damn successful aside from winning in the playoffs which can’t necessarily be controlled by him.

I don’t think he cares that much about winning, especially if he has to go somewhere else to do it.

Yeah for sure, he speaks so glowingly of his 2017 season and refers to it as his "pièce de résistance". The Reds went 68-94 that year and finished dead last lol.
Terminator Old-Timey Member Posted March 15, 2022 Posted March 15, 2022 I cannot wait for these 2 to get in a dugout fist fight for the 4th place Yankees this year.

Cheers, Buddy! I don't like MLB. I am disillusioned. What I do like is dunking on the people who made fun of me for years for being a big fan of both Matt Olson and Jesse Winker. The only hesitation I ever had with Winker was because the car accident he was in appeared to sap all his power and there was another potential Greg Bird situation where a great hitter falls apart because of injury. This is the time period my sig is from. Almora was slapping some singles around, getting Dinger Jr. all erect while Jesse Winker was incapable of hitting the ball hard. This was apparently the time to dunk, but in the end I guess they just looked like idiots. Watching them come to terms with their idiocy and trying to pretzel their brains out of it is truly a joy to watch.

jerb Verified Member Posted March 15, 2022 Posted March 15, 2022 Jeff Passan @JeffPassan Not only does Atlanta have a new 1B in Matt Olson, it’s going to have him for a long, long time. Olson and the Braves have agreed on an eight-year, $168 million contract extension, sources tell ESPN. Atlanta locks up the hometown kid two years before he was due to hit the market.
Ray Verified Member Posted March 15, 2022 Posted March 15, 2022 That's a significantly better deal for Atlanta in the long run than Freddie Freeman would've been. Massive win for AA.
