Stangstag Old-Timey Member Posted August 29, 2022 Posted August 29, 2022 Oakland A's have dipped below 10,000 per game in attendance and it's trending steadily downward. Photos of stands during a game last month: - Can’t believe you missed the best photo from OCo…. Guy getting his knob polished in the upper deck
John_Havok Old-Timey Member Posted August 29, 2022 Posted August 29, 2022 Oakland needs to move / get new ownership who gives a s***. That's embarrassing. Youre half right. I think ownership does care, but keeps getting hamstrung by their local government and San Francisco. Their latest proposal for a new stadium was amazing, and got s*** on. it was a massive 12 billion dollar project that would have been less than 10% publicly funded (850 million) and it got s*** on, though it's not completely dead yet.

Yeah it’s only a matter of time before they move to Vegas, IMO. The stadium is a dump and everyone knows it. If they can’t get a new one then no point staying there.

bigpaulie Verified Member Posted August 30, 2022 Posted August 30, 2022 At what point does Oakland’s AAA team in Vegas pass the the A’s mlb in attendance average? Oakland MLB about a 10k average and the Aviators at just about 7k average
jaysblue Old-Timey Member Posted August 30, 2022 Posted August 30, 2022 Verlander placed on IL. Non-throwing related though at least. Hope he's not out for an extended period of time.

Wouldn't it be smarter for the team to just shut him down until postseason atm? Though I suppose he'll have a say against that cause of the Cy Young bid

Though I suppose he'll have a say against that cause of the Cy Young bid You don't want to shut down Verlander completely until the Postseason. Starting pitchers need to pitch every 5th day to keep them fresh and sharp. A long layoff likely hurts him more than helps. So hopefully he can come back on the 13th and can get #2-3 starts in before the Postseason.
