I know the guy personally, it's not a decline. He had a severe negative reaction to the covid vaccine and then tore his MCL and played through it. He's still a damn good player when healthy.

When did he tear the MCL?

Earlier this year in a collision. If you are looking for a confirmation of that or an official report you won't find it because there is none. Not all injuries get disclosed.

10-4, just curious. And the COVID vaccine reaction was last year?

Always liked Didi. I think he deserves a ton of credit for how well he played for the Yanks after replacing Jeter. Big shoes to fill. I hope he gets healthy and resumes a quality career.

Yes the vaccine was last year, and it was bad. Didi literally plays through everything and because of that his numbers have been awful the last two years.

I mean he's also 32.5, well into his physical decline and at an age when most MLB players stop being productive.

And has not been particularly good since 2018, save for a bounce in 2020.

It's probably extremely hard for lots of players to ever admit that their skills have eroded. Year to year, there is always some other reason that they couldn't play well - some injury, some distraction. Some players probably never admit it and just end up... not employed anymore so they retire.

Didi is also the poster boy for becoming a low exit velocity power hitter by pulling a ton of fly balls and plopping them down into the first couple of rows in left field. Yankee Stadium and a live ball was a perfect combo for him. Deaden the ball and he is probably one of the guys that is affected the most.

Imagine being this short-sighted about your MLB roster

Arte Moreno DGAF about winning. He just wants to sell tickets and make money. Any reasonable franchise that was headed by a responsible owner who wanted to balance winning with profits would have been able to at least make the playoff a few times the last decade with the best player in the sport and now having the two best players in the world.

Obviously age related decline is real, and it's hard to bounce back from an MCL tear at any age much less 30. I just wanted to illustrate the point that his decline specifically is more than just age, the guy played the last two years in a condition that most of us would find difficult to work a regular office job in.

I love it whe Yankees get caught cheating

Not shocked at all. There’s a few guys in the league clearly on gear, he was an obvious one. Tyler O’neill and Yandy Diaz are a couple others that I wouldn’t be surprised to see popped at some point. Lorenzen too

Dietrich was busted for a stimulant of the like that can be commonly found in over the counter preworkout products and not for steroids. I certainly wouldn't place any bets against him using some sort of undetectable steroid but he hasn't been caught using anything of this sort.

Unfortunately there was also a Bluejays pitcher (Ivan Gonzalez) in the DSL that got busted for Stanozolol. He received a 60 game suspension

Yeah, I only enjoy it when its the Yankees

How bout this, The League apparently called Cora and said they made the wrong call on the review.

That’s the dumbest f***ing thing I’ve ever heard.

You do know that medicines, vaccines and medical treatments aren't one size fits all. Anyone with brains would know that.

Only on the 2022 Blue Jays Message Board would a 32.5 year baseball player sucking lead to this statement:

"You do know that medicines, vaccines and medical treatments aren't one size fits all. Anyone with brains would know that."

Common sense torn out of brains, replaced with shriveled indignancy.

Nah, because Jim and Dinger are stubborn.

Obviously yes age related decline with Didi is definitely a reason for the significant drop-off. Also, doubt Scion came on here to spread fake news. He was just saying what Didi has gone through these last two years. His drop-off obviously isn't all because of the vax injury but I'm sure it did effect his athletic ability somewhat. Same with some other athletes as well. Another example, look at Jeremy Chardy, the French tennis player. For Dinger and Jim to completely dismiss that is ignorant. Medical treatments, medicines, and vaccines aren't one size fits all. Anyone with brains would know that and know that certain people react to medicines differently than others. For example, I try a prescription for a week or two and its not producing results. Doctor prescribes me another prescription for the same condition and I'm seeing better results. Not rocket science.

Based on what? Because they are jacked? I played a bit of ball against O'neill as a teenager and he was jacked back then to.. Guy is a gym rat, and genetics also play somewhat of a factor for him.

You can be jacked without being on gear.

Since we're on this track, now would be a great time to post my findings on antimicrobrial peptides (AMP's) and their effect on the immune system of vertebrates. However I will honour board guidelines and desist.:P

Been a lot of claims during this pandemic that have been proven to be ********. Yes there are short term reactions to the vaccine affecting a tiny percentage, like 0.01% or less. Whereas long covid affects some 10-20% of those that got covid infections. If Didi had some type of medical complication its far more likely to be due to something other than the vaccine, including something completely unrelated to covid.

Here's something on his medical issues: https://www.timesherald.com/2021/07/03/phillies-notebook-strange-sounding-elbow-ailment-very-real-for-didi-gregorius/

Is death a short term reaction?

The 10-20% number is kind of skewed... I'd say for healthy(non-obese/overweight especially) it's closer to 2% than it is 10-20% in terms of long term effects.
