Jimcanuck Old-Timey Member Posted November 30, 2021 Posted November 30, 2021 I've been on the Javy train for a while. Wonder if the Jays have a big edge given the bro-in-law connection. The thing with Javy is he can play all over the diamond. So 3B until Moreno is ready, then he slides over to 2B. Or if Biggio is performing well to the 3-4 WAR player we think he is when healthy, Javy can play all over the field giving everyone a DH day every few weeks. The positional flexibility is a huge plus.

The positional flexibility is a huge plus. You make a good point and adding him to the fold makes the infield extremely fluid. Don’t love the offensive player but he’s the kinda guy the Jays should target every year on one year deals like the Braves have been doing. Huge upside and could have a productive season in this lineup
Spanky99 Old-Timey Member Posted November 30, 2021 Posted November 30, 2021 Your prediction had Semien to Seattle. Not Texas. His predictions are rumours, lol.
Spanky99 Old-Timey Member Posted November 30, 2021 Posted November 30, 2021 Watch him pitch in the allstar game next year He won't be back till then, the following year is likely though.
Carlos Danger Old-Timey Member Posted November 30, 2021 Posted November 30, 2021 Damn, I'd love Taylor. Yes, perfect fit for us.

It is expected to be a six-year contract worth $140 million. I'm curious where Correa goes at this point. I was sure he was going to get that $300+ million deal from the Tigers. Who else needs a SS? The Yankees won't be giving out that type of contract to a SS when they want to lock up Judge and have a top prospect at SS (Volpe). I doubt the Astros want to go that high. The Dodgers have Turner who they can put at short, plus I doubt Correa would be too popular in LA for obvious reasons. Maybe I'm missing a team.

Correa wants big money, Mets just want to spend money, whether it makes sense of not. Feels like there's a financial fit there.
mellowgold Verified Member Posted November 30, 2021 Posted November 30, 2021 Maybe the Tigers take a page out of the Rangers' playbook and blow their load on two middle infielders? Baez at 2B and Correa at SS

Sammy225 Old-Timey Member Posted November 30, 2021 Posted November 30, 2021 I'm guessing nothing is getting done today considering physicals can't happen tomorrow am I correct in saying that

So I’d assume medicals could be taken through the day, just likely no new deals to announce.

LMFAO - The Orioles are closing in on agreement with infielder Rougned Odor, reports Dan Connolly of the Athletic (Twitter links). Odor was recently released by the Yankees. Once finalized, it’ll be a one-year major league contract.
