Jays24 Old-Timey Member Posted August 26, 2021 Posted August 26, 2021 Sick of Montoyo using Gurriel like he's a part time player with the current roster. Dude played 1B yesterday, get him there in place of Smith so you don't have to put Espinal 6th, especially with a lefty on the mound...
travisinfla Verified Member Posted August 26, 2021 Posted August 26, 2021 Bo had all day and nearly tosses it away

Although with Charlie its hard to give him the benefit of the doubt
Stangstag Old-Timey Member Posted August 26, 2021 Posted August 26, 2021 Bo had all day and nearly tosses it away Ok?? Play was still made, stop whining.
John_Havok Old-Timey Member Posted August 26, 2021 Posted August 26, 2021 This lineup does not make me tingle... Espinal is not a middle of the order hitter no matter what kind his avridge is.
RobinThicc Verified Member Posted August 26, 2021 Posted August 26, 2021 Damn forgot this was an early one
travisinfla Verified Member Posted August 26, 2021 Posted August 26, 2021 Ok?? Play was still made, stop whining. Nope he's made too many errors this season, not sold on him at SS yet, he may be a better 2nd, with Semien at short. His scouting report: Defense: Bichette played shortstop here and it was obvious that while he could play short in the low minors, he won't be able to hold that position in the big leagues. That's okay though since he was drafted as a second baseman. His range at short is a little below what you’d want there, but I think he's got more than enough range to play second along with enough arm for the spot- though he didn’t have the arm for short for sure. He should be at least an adequate fielder at second. A 45-50 grade is a safe bet and the arm is a 45-50.
Eat My Shatkins Verified Member Posted August 26, 2021 Posted August 26, 2021 f***, Ryu is starting to suck.
gruber92 Old-Timey Member Posted August 26, 2021 Posted August 26, 2021 They're sitting soft all day. Holy f***, adjust.
Stangstag Old-Timey Member Posted August 26, 2021 Posted August 26, 2021 Just can't get a winstreak going.... Watch the Jays put up like 5 runs today but still lose
travisinfla Verified Member Posted August 26, 2021 Posted August 26, 2021 Looking like the Berrios game, hopefully not
gruber92 Old-Timey Member Posted August 26, 2021 Posted August 26, 2021 Ryu needs to pound the fastball on the inner half more often.

Even the best shortstops make errors from time to time.... just look at Semien on that Sunday game. Bo is continuing to get better.

Bichette's arm is definitely not a 40-50 at this point in time
John_Havok Old-Timey Member Posted August 26, 2021 Posted August 26, 2021 They're sitting soft all day. Holy f***, adjust. It's Ryu, everything is soft. This is just one of those games where the soft tosser isn't getting swings and misses on the borderline stuff, and everything in the zone is being massacred.
Krylian Old-Timey Member Posted August 26, 2021 Posted August 26, 2021 Seems like Bichette and Vlady only have warning track power these days. They need Abuela.

I think its just general fatigue for all the young guys. They've never played this many games before... its a growing pains year. I'm sure they will be more prepared for 162 next year.
goldbug103 Verified Member Posted August 26, 2021 Posted August 26, 2021 Correct me, but Vlad hasn’t hit a double in August I believe and slugging under 0.300 which is dreadful for a 1st baseman. Bo is not doing much better.
