Deadpool Old-Timey Member Posted May 18, 2021 Posted May 18, 2021 Gurriel has a 203 wRC+ over the past 3 games. I hope that's not just a blip, and is a sign that he's putting it together finally.

Grant77 Old-Timey Member Posted May 18, 2021 Posted May 18, 2021 Good opportunity to stomp on a s*** team and take the lead in the division. Go Jay's!
Sammy225 Old-Timey Member Posted May 18, 2021 Posted May 18, 2021 Anyone else get excited whenever Espinal starts at third. He looks so good defensively
TwistedLogic Old-Timey Member Posted May 18, 2021 Author Posted May 18, 2021 Anyone else get excited whenever Espinal starts at third. He looks so good defensively Enjoy it while it lasts. The Panik IL stint won't last forever.
Deadpool Old-Timey Member Posted May 18, 2021 Posted May 18, 2021 Anyone else get excited whenever Espinal starts at third. He looks so good defensively He's also got a respectable 108 wRC+ in limited playing time this year, so we're not sacrificing at the plate either.
wilko Old-Timey Member Posted May 18, 2021 Posted May 18, 2021 Anyone else get excited whenever Espinal starts at third. He looks so good defensively Yes. More than Joe "Weak Contact" Panik.
Orgfiller Old-Timey Member Posted May 18, 2021 Posted May 18, 2021 Yes. More than Joe "Weak Contact" Panik. I get that it's fun to s*** on Panik and I understand it, it's frustrating that our manager is in love with him, but he actually hits the ball quite a bit harder than Espinal. Panik's avg and max exit velos are quite a bit better than Espinal's, the latter is a bloop merchant, the former just hits too many balls at a sub-optimal launch angle for his lack of raw power. Panik just isn't a 3B at all.
Spanky99 Old-Timey Member Posted May 18, 2021 Posted May 18, 2021 f*** the Red Sox! Clap, clap, clap clap clap f*** the Red Sox! Clap, clap, clap clap clap f*** the Red Sox! Clap, clap, clap clap clap Hah... that works too. LETS GO BLUE JAYS *CLAP, CLAP* *CLAP, CLAP, CLAP* LETS GO BLUE JAYS *CLAP, CLAP* *CLAP, CLAP, CLAP* LETS GO BLUE JAYS *CLAP, CLAP* *CLAP, CLAP, CLAP*
Spanky99 Old-Timey Member Posted May 18, 2021 Posted May 18, 2021 Anyone else get excited whenever Espinal starts at third. He looks so good defensively No, not really.
TwistedLogic Old-Timey Member Posted May 18, 2021 Author Posted May 18, 2021 Why haven't the shitbag Red Sox released their lineup yet?

Panik just isn't a 3B at all. Panik is in the 34th percentile for max exit velocity (32nd percentile in 2020, 28th percentile for avg exit velocity). Espinal is in the 26th percentile for max exit velocity this year, while his average exit velocity was almost identical to Panik in 2020. I think we're splitting hairs here - neither guy hits it hard.
Deadpool Old-Timey Member Posted May 18, 2021 Posted May 18, 2021 Why haven't the shitbag Red Sox released their lineup yet? General shitbaggery, I'd assume.
BigCecil Old-Timey Member Posted May 18, 2021 Posted May 18, 2021 Its early in the season, but it feels like its the most meaningful series since the end of 2016 season.
TwistedLogic Old-Timey Member Posted May 18, 2021 Author Posted May 18, 2021 General shitbaggery, I'd assume. Makes sense. Good answer.
Spanky99 Old-Timey Member Posted May 18, 2021 Posted May 18, 2021 Its early in the season, but it feels like its the most meaningful series since the end of 2016 season. I'd go with Tampa last post-season... This stretch should be fun!
Spanky99 Old-Timey Member Posted May 18, 2021 Posted May 18, 2021 So Biggio was moved to DH because of a tight neck, Teo moved to RF, Lourdes moved to LF.
glory Old-Timey Member Posted May 18, 2021 Posted May 18, 2021 Enjoy it while it lasts. The Panik IL stint won't last forever. Yup. The moment Panik comes back, he's playing regularly. Even when it doesn't make sense to see him in the lineup, he'll be there.
Jgarza868899 Verified Member Posted May 18, 2021 Posted May 18, 2021 No, not really. Lol “excited” is a bit much.
DigitalRock Old-Timey Member Posted May 18, 2021 Posted May 18, 2021 How come buck sounds like he is 15 feet away.
TwistedLogic Old-Timey Member Posted May 18, 2021 Author Posted May 18, 2021 Friendly reminder that the Blue Jays are good:
G-Snarls Community Moderator Posted May 18, 2021 Posted May 18, 2021 That 3rd strike pitch was nasty AF
DigitalRock Old-Timey Member Posted May 18, 2021 Posted May 18, 2021 Friendly reminder that the Blue Jays are good: Not sure when but only a matter of time before they fall back to earth imo.
