gruber92 Old-Timey Member Posted March 4, 2021 Posted March 4, 2021 Dietrich overpowered, strikes out swinging on fastball (97) DJL grounds into a nifty 3-6-1 DP to end the inning.
Eat My Shatkins Verified Member Posted March 4, 2021 Posted March 4, 2021 Manoah K's Dietrich then gets DJLM to ground into a double play to end the inning. Fastball 96-98mph Slider around 85 mph
Eat My Shatkins Verified Member Posted March 4, 2021 Posted March 4, 2021 Espinal with a lead off double, and then three regulars fail to cash him in (Teo, Rowdy, Jansen)
Ray Verified Member Posted March 4, 2021 Author Posted March 4, 2021 Manoah was throwing 100 in Vancouver in 2019. Not surprising.
Spanky__99 Old-Timey Member Posted March 4, 2021 Posted March 4, 2021 Hardest so far at 94.6, but who knows how accurate the gun is. That's his normal velo 91-94, tops 97.
Laika Community Moderator Posted March 4, 2021 Posted March 4, 2021 Manoah did not throw a changeup. Just fastballs and sliders. Statcast says there were 4 seamers and 2 seamers though - I wonder if that's true and he is throwing two different fastballs.
gruber92 Old-Timey Member Posted March 4, 2021 Posted March 4, 2021 Manoah 2 IP 1H 0 R 0 BB 4 K Fastball was sitting in the 94-97 range. Won a 9 pitch battle with Hicks by striking him out swinging.
Ray Verified Member Posted March 4, 2021 Author Posted March 4, 2021 Let’s make it a trifecta and see Adam Kloffenstein too!
Spanky__99 Old-Timey Member Posted March 4, 2021 Posted March 4, 2021 Let’s make it a trifecta and see Adam Kloffenstein too! Are we reeeeeally seeing them????

43211234 Verified Member Posted March 4, 2021 Posted March 4, 2021 Allgeyer??? Was rocked, lol. There were 6 balls put in play off him: 94 mph (flyout) 106 mph (HR) 106 mph (2B) 98 mph (HR) 100 mph (groundout) 101 mph (lineout) They completely teed-off on Allgeyer.
Spanky__99 Old-Timey Member Posted March 4, 2021 Posted March 4, 2021 Castro's been good, aside from the dinger.
Brownie19 Old-Timey Member Posted March 4, 2021 Posted March 4, 2021 If those rules are only in effect until March 13th - that makes it a bit better IMO. Is that true?
BigCecil Old-Timey Member Posted March 4, 2021 Posted March 4, 2021 Man it sucks we can’t watch this young talent pitch for us. Thanks for posting the videos and commentary. Exciting times.
Ehjays Verified Member Posted March 4, 2021 Posted March 4, 2021 I didnt see this little gem mentioned anywhere from yesterdays Yankees game • The Blue Jays’ highest exit velocity of the day? Catching prospect Gabriel Moreno, who ranks No. 8 in the system, with a 104.5-mph lineout. The buzz around Moreno is only growing, both within the organization and around the league.

Gotta inflate the hype around all our prospects so we can make a David Price trade at some point this year and win the World Series yo! But seriously - it's hard not to get excited about so many of our prospects right now. I love it.

Olerud363 Old-Timey Member Posted March 4, 2021 Posted March 4, 2021 It's just not the same. And then who would you put in to finish the inning? The other starter that's expecting to start the next innings and isn't warmed up? Or some other pitcher that didn't even expect to pitch that day that hasn't warmed up at all? They have a ton of fringe guys, even with the cuts to the minor leagues. Just bring some of them along. Don't have them expecting to pitch or not pitch that day, but they just take over if another guy reaches a limit or gets in trouble... kind of like the regular season. Romana comes in, takes 10 pitches to walk the first guy, and you might start another guy warming just in case. I mean they did it for years that way. This new thing is like 5 days old.
Olerud363 Old-Timey Member Posted March 4, 2021 Posted March 4, 2021 Odd there is no stream for a Yankee home game, but it is really early in the Spring schedule. Nets played on YES.
jerb Verified Member Posted March 4, 2021 Posted March 4, 2021 Arden Zwelling @ArdenZwelling Per Blue Jays GM Ross Atkins, Nate Pearson suffered a grade 1 right groin strain while pitching Monday. Club will be cautious and limit his activity in the coming days; not yet a clear timeline on when he could return to the mound. Arden Zwelling @ArdenZwelling Atkins: "Our goal and hope is that we're seeing him again in spring training pretty quickly. But we'll be cautious and make sure that pain is completely gone before he’s back on the mound. Whether that's a week, or a couple of weeks, or longer, is too hard to say at this point."
Stangstag Old-Timey Member Posted March 4, 2021 Posted March 4, 2021 Ughhhhh. Can we sign Odorizzi plz. One injury like this and our rotation looks afwul.

I don't like this at all. Is Pearson made of glass?
Laika Community Moderator Posted March 4, 2021 Posted March 4, 2021 I don't like this at all. Is Pearson made of glass? 50% gas, 50% glass, 50% ass
Brownie19 Old-Timey Member Posted March 4, 2021 Posted March 4, 2021 Is Grade 1 minor? ie, higher number is worse?
G-Snarls Community Moderator Posted March 4, 2021 Posted March 4, 2021 Is Grade 1 minor? ie, higher number is worse? Yes, grade 1 is the lowest/most minor https://www.hss.edu/conditions_muscle-strain.asp#:~:text=Grades%20of%20muscle%20strains,-The%20severity%20of&text=Grade%201%3A%20Mild%20damage%20to,muscle%20is%20not%20completely%20ruptured.
Ray Verified Member Posted March 4, 2021 Author Posted March 4, 2021 I don't like this at all. Is Pearson made of glass? He's suffered like 3 injuries, and one of them was a freak injury due to a comebacker. You can't make that assumption at all yet.
