Safe to assume the Mets and Dodgers were very close. I don't know why the Jays would be in there if they weren't competitive. Maybe Bauer's ego made him want to make it look like three teams were chasing him to the end, but I think it's more likely that Toronto just was kind of close here.

Yeah, I said this earlier but the Blue Jays being in the video and then Rachel Luba only tweeting yesterday evening that it was down to two teams makes me think the Blue Jays were in it until yesterday.

Mets offer to Trevor Bauer was $105M over 3. 40M, 35M, and 30M. Opt outs after each of the 1st 2 years. Plus another 5M if opt out came after 2nd year — so 80M if he’d stayed for 2. Very comparable deal. Obvs he loves LA.
