Just hilarious and also sad how all of the 100 IQ middle of the curve fans on here were absolutely right.

 

Yes, the team was insanely stupid for letting him return to play so quickly and letting him try to play through these injuries. Just insanely stupid. Can't even say "in hindsight" because, again, all of the plebs here saw it as it unfolded.

 

I think I've been conditioned now. When the Jays says someone has a mild injury and could return in a week or two, I assume it's possible they'll have lost an entire arm once the week is up.

This seems to be the case more and more through out all sports, we are being lied to all the time, like here Bryce Harper is fine was the talking point for days then on the IL

Pretty obvious that if a guy can only return in a DH capacity, he shouldnt be back.

Speaking of Springer and qualifying for leaderboards, is it already mathematically impossible for Springer to come back and qualify? Like let's say he came back today and played every PA the rest of the way. Does he qualify? If so, how much more time can he miss before it's mathematically not possible?

That would depend entirely on how many plate appearances he has. He needs 484 more over the remainder of the season.

 

That's roughly 4.5 per game, so certainly in play if he comes back now and remains healthy. That seems highly unlikely, however.

I’ve seen him get a couple nice saves down in NH and Buffalo. He has decent velo for such a short frame. It’s a bit unfortunate since he was a home grown talent, I guess they needed the spot for Carl Edwards jr.

Joe Panik as the starting 3B with Biggio out is depressing. It would be one thing if he could field 3B, but he's not even good at that. The only one who benefits is Charlie who gets to live out his dream by writing Panik's name in the starting lineup.

I would put Semien at 2, but then Bo needs someone behind him that will force pitchers to throw him strikes every now and then, so its nice having Vlad behind him.

First Marcus is a team guy and won’t complain. Second, The top 4 guys are with us for years and cornerstones of the team. Marcus, for however good he is doing, is ultimately a rental. Third, Big FA lead off hitter signing is going to hit lead off.

First Marcus is a team guy and won’t complain. Second, The top 4 guys are with us for years and cornerstones of the team. Marcus, for however good he is doing, is ultimately a rental. Third, Big FA lead off hitter signing is going to hit lead off.

 

If Semien was totally open to anything, we would have seen him at third base in some capacity. He's a rental (possibly) but he's a vet and is destroying opposing pitching at the top of the line up. Bo is still very young and is an adjustment or two away from being a sustained force in the two spot. If you want to maximize the offence for this year, you have to let Semien bat second with Springer leading off. Vladdy needs to be assured a first inning plate appearance and Teo is entrenched as one of the best clean up hitters in baseball.
