Jimcanuck Old-Timey Member Posted January 20, 2021 Posted January 20, 2021 If Toronto does sign Springer, I don't really see where Brantley fits in, unless the team flips Gurriel or Teo for SP or infield help. I see a Gurriel flip for an SP. Would make sense....

Rafters Verified Member Posted January 20, 2021 Posted January 20, 2021 There is always the injuries, and off days, no one plays 162 anymore. Lots of lineup flexibility but 5 outfielders and Rowdy/Vlad combo makes it harder
DigitalRock Old-Timey Member Posted January 20, 2021 Posted January 20, 2021 No way he chooses Toronto over NY imo. Hope I'm wrong though.
BTS Community Moderator Posted January 20, 2021 Posted January 20, 2021 I feel very strongly that we should cash in on Teoscar. Agreed. Would much prefer to trade him than Gurriel.

Even with Springer only, I think we might trade one of Teo/Gurriel. Grichuk is too expensive for a 4th OFer. We already have Tellez and Vlad that will be rotating at 1B/DH. Would love to keep them all and basically platoon Tellez and Grichuk. Let Teo DH when Grichuk plays.

Considering his age and what’s he’s done to this point, not sure how strong the market would be. He’d prob have to continue it well into next year to warrant meaningful pieces coming back. I’d rather flame out with him than sell him for C prospects

I'd rather gamble and hope he becomes the next Jose Bautista than trade him for an unknown commodity.

Laika Community Moderator Posted January 20, 2021 Posted January 20, 2021 No doubt in my mind anymore. Springer is a Blue Jay. Also - Kolten Wong is retweeting Blue Jays news (Yates signing).

Chatwood, Yates, Springer, and Wong in the past 24 hours? After blue balls for the majority of the offseason, it feels like Blue Jays fans are about to get their release.
BTS Community Moderator Posted January 20, 2021 Posted January 20, 2021 He could have found a better way to say it but is he wrong? His take is stupid. Nobody is calling Springer a "savior", and "the final piece of the puzzle" is a meaningless platitude.
DigitalRock Old-Timey Member Posted January 20, 2021 Posted January 20, 2021 Trump out and possibly Jay's making big moves.? 2021 might redeem itself, let's hope.
glory Old-Timey Member Posted January 20, 2021 Posted January 20, 2021 Wong and Yates are both from Hawaii, and Wong retweeted a Hawaiian site's article about it. I wouldn't read anything into it.

Replace Wong with Paxton, or dare I say Bauer...man now I am getting gready.

THANOS Old-Timey Member Posted January 20, 2021 Posted January 20, 2021 I see a Gurriel flip for an SP. Would make sense.... Gurriel & Hiraldo for Bryant & Hendricks?

That's exactly what I was going to say. I don't want Wong. Leave Biggio at 2B and use that money elsewhere.
